General Manager, Taiwan

About the Role:

The General Manager Taiwan role will lead transformation and sustainable growth in a dynamic and competitive market. The role is responsible for driving sales performance, market share, and profitability, while ensuring operational excellence and building a high‑performing, engaged organization.

The General Manager will act as the overall business leader for Taiwan, fostering strong relationships with customers, distributors, and key stakeholders, while aligning country strategy with regional and Group objectives. The role will have solid line reporting of Sales Department and managerial reporting of Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and Quality teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead country strategic development, defining business plans and budgets aligned with regional and Group objectives, in close collaboration with Cluster and Region teams  
  • Drive business development initiatives and ensure disciplined operational execution of approved plans
  • Provide market insights, performance analysis, and strategic recommendations to Regional and Area management
  • Develop and execute annual sales plans and commercial policies in line with Regional and Group guidelines
  • Foster strong partnerships with distributors, trade partners, and key customers
  • Oversee the integration of Sales and Trade Marketing activities to maximize brand visibility, execution quality, and profitability
  • Ensure successful launch, marketing, and development of brands in line with company guidelines and local market needs, maximizing brand equity, penetration, and sustainable profitability
  • Implement marketing and media strategies in collaboration with regional teams, adapting actions to the Taiwan market
  • Assess market positioning, consumer trends, and competitive dynamics, identifying opportunities for growth and change
  • Monitor and update budgets throughout the year, ensuring consistency between sales ambition, cost management, and financial targets
  • Ensure strong financial discipline, transparency, and alignment with Group standards
  • Ensure a high‑performing operational setup across the country, including efficient management of supply chain activities and 3PL partners
  • Oversee commercial quality priorities in close collaboration with Quality teams, ensuring coherence with Group standards and guidelines
  • Manage quality issues and product recalls together with relevant functions, in line with company and Group procedures
  • Reinforce, expand, and lead the Taiwan team, fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, development, and empowerment
  • Recruit, coach, and develop team members, ensuring strong succession planning and alignment with company values
  • Partner with functional peers in Hong Kong to drive the local team with full mutual support
  • Partner with Cluster / Region P&O to support talent development, performance management, and organizational effectiveness

About You:

  • University degree in Business, Economics, or a related field
  • Proven experience in general management, commercial, sales, or marketing leadership roles, preferably within FMCG or related industries
  • Strong strategic thinking, business development, and financial acumen
  • Understanding and experience in Clubs, CVS channels and Distributors management
  • Leadership presence with the ability to influence across functions and levels, and to lead transformation and growth
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams
  • Resilient, proactive, and agile leadership style with a strong growth mindset
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is a must; additional languages are considered a plus
