State Account Manager

About the Role:

The State Account Manager is responsible for driving sustainable sales growth and profitability across key independent retail customers, including Ritchies, FoodWorks, and Metcash state offices (VIC, NSW, WA). This role builds and executes customer-specific plans to strengthen brand presence, optimize product range, pricing, and promotional effectiveness within the independent grocery channel.

As the primary commercial interface between Ferrero and these customers, the State Account Manager ensures consistent execution of national and state-level strategies, adapts to local market requirements, and manages key stakeholder relationships. The role aligns internal cross-functional teams and delivers against financial targets, including revenue, margin, and market share.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Execute Ferrero business strategies with relevant customers, applying the triple win approach to achieve positive outcomes for consumers, customers, and Ferrero
  • Load accurate accruals into SAPTM and ensure timely, accurate completion of SAPTM claims
  • Build strong partnerships through regular customer meetings, supporting senior colleagues and presenting at range reviews to drive business outcomes
  • Lead negotiations on case deals, pricing, and activation activities, contributing directly to commercial success
  • Influence market dynamics by negotiating cost price increases with wholesalers and retailers when needed
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning to deliver accurate forecasts, ensuring optimal product availability and customer satisfaction
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting as required, ensuring all key stakeholders receive updates in a timely manner
  • Drive retail excellence by preparing and executing field activation briefs for key initiatives, ensuring impactful market presence

About You:

  • University degree
  • Relevant experience in account management, sales, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of market dynamics, retailer operations, and merchandising techniques
  • Strong time management, analytical, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with SAP TM and eCommerce is an advantage
