About the Role:

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) role is a great opportunity for candidates who would like to further advance their careers in Field Sales and management.

 

The ASM will be responsible for their assigned team of Territory Managers and merchandisers to deliver all in-store activities and the delivery of all Field KPIs and Targets. They will be responsible for the building and development of a high-performance sales team through ongoing focus to coaching and mentoring each team member according to their Individual Development Plan. Additionally, they will have their own defined territory of stores where they will levarage their relationships with customer managers to gain and maintain offsite locations to build award winning POS and spectaculars and maximise sales opportunities.

 

The Area Sales Manager will also work collaboratively with the State Operations Manager to ensure compliance across all channels within their assigned area and will seek out additional sales opportunities through the relationships and rapport that have been built with their key customer contacts.

Main Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development

  • Builds and maintain relationships with Key Customers (store and Area/Regional Managers) to maximise sales opportunities each session.
  • Meet Key customer contacts to Upsell major activities and negotiate additional display activity


In-Store Execution

  • Ensure Quality, Freshness and Standards of in-store execution are met according to the Field Action Standards set under the My Perfect Store Guidelines
  • Develop plan to achieve all display and Execution Quality targets as outlined in the Activity Execution Guide.
  • Ensure the Availability of all POS Material for activations in-store, including the ordering of all POS to Local Sheds in a timely manner.

 

People Management

  • Coordinates, coaches and mentors all Direct Reports, comprising of Territory Managers and merchandisers
  • Participate in the recruitment of Territory Managers, Regional Merchandisers and seasonal helpers as required
  • Ensure Performance of all Territory Managers is in accordance with Ferrero Standards and core values and fulfils the requirements of their roles.
  • Implement approved Performance Management Plans as required
  • Support the development and ongoing review of Individual Development Plans for all team members.
  • Comply to the year-end Performance Evaluation process for all Full-Time team members.

 

Who we are looking for:

  • 3-5 years' experience within territory or sales management within FMCG
  • Experience working in the grocery channel is essentia
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Resilient, driven and determined to succeed
  • Experience in Managing and Developing People is highly regarded
  • Tertiary qualification preferable within business-related field
