Engineering Logistics Manager (f/m/d)

About the Role:

Based in Stadtallendorf and embedded in the Infrastructure Engineering (Logistics Management) team, this leadership position is responsible for steering logistics engineering projects end to end, from design and implementation to optimization and budget governance. The role focuses on leading and developing a team of logistics engineering specialists while ensuring effective coordination across automation, IT/SAP, Supply Chain and Purchasing.
 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the design, realization and optimization of logistics projects, including warehouses, intralogistics systems, transport and picking solutions
  • End-to-end project management of logistics engineering projects, including budget responsibility (CAPEX/OPEX)
  • Coordination and alignment of automation systems (e.g. PLC, SCADA, HMI, networks and interfaces) within logistics projects
  • Close collaboration with IT/SAP (especially SAP EWM) to ensure reliable and future-oriented system integration
  • Continuous optimization of standards, tools and methodologies, e.g. Digital Twin, virtualization, BIM and naming standards
  • Cross-functional interface management with Engineering functions (such as Utilities, Facilities, ...), Supply Chain and Purchasing
  • Support and collaboration with Purchasing during tendering, supplier negotiations, contract management and change management
  • Ensuring knowledge transfer and capitalization of best practices across plants and projects
  • Leadership and development of a small team of logistics engineering specialists

About You:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, IT or a comparable technical field
  • Several years of professional experience (approx. 8+ years) in logistics engineering, intralogistics or automation projects
  • Proven project management experience in complex industrial environments (preferably FMCG or manufacturing)
  • Strong technical know-how in: Automation and control systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI), IT / system interfaces and networks, SAP knowledge (ideally SAP EWM) as well as mechanical and logistics-related processes
    Experience in working with cross-functional and international stakeholders
  • Leadership mindset with the ability to coordinate teams and external partners
  • Structured, solution-oriented and proactive working style
  • Very good English skills (German is an advantage)
