About the Role:

Manage food safety and quality of incoming packaging materials and finished good to assure a high level of product quality within the established company/industry standards.

Verify the documentation filled out by production quality control as a Preventive Control Qualified Individual (PCQI)

Issue non-conforming reports upon receiving feedback from production or inbound inspections and perform CAPA.

Interface with warehouse, production, and quality control line operators.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Takes responsibility for incoming packaging materials, implement sampling plan, create procedures to assure packaging conformity to company specifications.
  • Assures that copacked finished goods are following company specifications. Manage CAPA for incoming packaging.
  • Lead Sensory evaluation of chocolates in contact with primary packaging – Robinson Test
  • Perform annual audits on products packed locally (Military Standard Checks) & Conduct follow-up with Operations
  • Support FSQ Product Design Projects and perform quality inspection on local tests.
  • Share with Quality Control Assistant Responsibility of PCQI Signatures and data entry. Assist in determining corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Keep quality records and production reports, Preventive Controls forms. Manage Sample Archive
  • Knowledge of Spanish is a plus!!
  • Physical:
    • Ability to lift 15 – 20lbs including all product, packaging, and samples. Walking and or standing 80% of a work day (6+ hrs) Manipulate products and packaging with hands/arms to retrieve samples.

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor Degree in Food Science or related discipline
  • Systems/Software: SAP ECC, Microsoft Office
  • Experience in the food industry
  • PCHF (Preventive Control for Human Food) Training and PCQI Certification
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or FSSC 22000
