OI Better For You Science Manager
About the Role:
The role of Better For You Science Manager is aimed to drive open innovation initiatives across the APAC region and is focused on identifying, developing, and accelerating nutrition, health, and wellness‑driven innovations, in close collaboration with internal teams and a broad external ecosystem. The position plays a key role in shaping Ferrero’s Better For You innovation strategy, translating scientific insights into scalable innovation opportunities that support long‑term business objectives and evolving consumer health needs across the Region.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead open innovation initiatives within the Better For You domain, from scouting through execution
- Identify, assess, and develop external technologies, partners, and collaboration opportunities across APAC
- Drive complex, cross‑functional innovation projects involving internal stakeholders and external partners
- Contribute to the definition of long‑term Better For You innovation guidelines in alignment with global strategy
- Monitor emerging scientific, technological, and regulatory trends in nutrition, health, and food science
- Assess innovation opportunities related to ingredients, metabolic response, and consumer wellness
- Translate scientific insights and internal needs into actionable innovation concepts and business opportunities
- Conduct patent and IP landscape analyses to support innovation strategy and protect intellectual property
- Manage technology scouting, partner evaluation, and project development within the Better For You area
- Build robust business cases in collaboration with cross‑functional teams for leadership review.
- Ensure timely execution, stakeholder alignment, and measurable outcomes for approved initiatives
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Strategy teams to deliver consumer‑centric innovation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with universities, research institutions, start‑ups, and technology providers
- Contribute to APAC Innovation Center priorities and cross‑regional innovation initiatives
About You:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Nutrition, Food Science, Life Sciences, Biology, or a related field. MBA considered an advantage
- Strong relevant experience in nutrition, health, or food science innovation within a multinational and/or FMCG/CPG environment
- Strong scientific background in nutrition, metabolic response, or health‑focused product development
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific insights into clear innovation strategies and business cases
- Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication capabilities
- Experience operating in fast‑paced, cross‑functional, and innovation‑driven environments
- Analytical, curious, proactive, and strategic mindset with a collaborative working style
