Key Account Manager - Travel Market

About the Role:

The role is aimed to drive sales growth and profitability with key accounts and distributors in the Travel Retail sector across Asia. The Key Account Manager - Travel Market will develop and execute account strategies, manage budgets, negotiate contracts, and ensure effective in-market execution, providing field support and market insights.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow relationships with key clients, retailers, and distributors
  • Develop annual strategic plans and adapt strategies for customer clusters
  • Analyze performance, identify business opportunities, and define action plans
  • Conduct outlet audits and gather market intelligence
  • Propose sales budgets and monitor trade spending
  • Track sales targets, initiate recovery plans, and monitor sell-out trends
  • Collect and update forecasts from customers
  • Negotiate contracts, joint business plans, and promotional activities
  • Collaborate with Trade Marketing to develop sales arguments
  • Support implementation of planograms and shelf positioning
  • Manage trade spending within commercial policy guidelines
  • Approve payments, analyze ROI, and protect profit and loss performance
  • Validate distributor trading terms and reimbursements
  • Communicate agreements and action plans to stakeholders
  • Monitor in-store deployment, sales, stock levels, and KPIs
  • Maintain product assortment and ensure timely listing
  • Collect and analyze account performance and market trends
  • Prepare internal reports, including scan data and promotion evaluations
  • Collaborate effectively with relevant teams and other Key Account Managers in the region

About You:

  • University degree in Business, Management or relevant field
  • Experience in field sales, key account management and/or FMCG merchandising
  • Knowledge of Travel Retail, Airport retail, Inflight, Border Shops, Low-Tax areas, Channel and Customer Planning, Commercial Logistics, and Sales processes
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and organized
  • Independent, open-minded, and collaborative
  • Advanced Excel slikks, proficiency with PowerPoint, MS Office, Power BI
  • Willingness to travel (30–40%)
  • Proficiency in English required; Chinese language skills considered a major plus
