About the Role:

The role of the Category & Channel Assistant Manager, Southeast Asia is responsible for the end-to-end management of the biggest category in Ferrero. This includes developing and implementing strategies to maximize profitability, driving sales, and meeting business objectives. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure the success of the assigned category & channel.

Main Responsibilities:

Category and Channel Growth Plan:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive category & channel strategy aligned with overall business objectives
  • Work in close collaboration with the Consumer Shopper Understanding team to conduct market research to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape to identify category and channel opportunities and challenges
  • Translate insights into instore drivers and create a picture of success and work on the development of a Category Execution Playbook, which in turn could be used as category and channel guidelines in the different markets


Performance Analysis:

  • Analyze sales data and performance metrics to optimize the categories and channel’s performance including share movements, price movements and competition updates
  • Provide monthly analysis and identify opportunities and areas for improvement for the category and channel, which should be shared on regular basis to relevant stakeholders


Product Assortment:

  • Determine the product assortment within the category and channel, considering market demand and company goals
  • Work in close collaboration with the marketing and country trade marketing team to drive the introduction of new products by projecting the volume assumptions and being part of the creation of the business case
  • Provide launch guidelines like planogram recommendations and insights for strong selling argumentation, which should lead to the final preparation of any new market entry
  • Facilitate new launches in the different markets, and manage the lifecycle of existing products


Supplier Management:

  • Be responsible for designing point of sales materials for a specific brand for the Southeast Asian markets (centralized materials)
  • Work in close collaboration with the marketing and sales team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and monitor supplier performance, implement improvements as needed in close collaboration with the Point of Sales Manager


Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to achieve overall business goals
  • Communicate category insights and updates to relevant stakeholders and implement corrective actions as needed

Who we are looking for:

  • University degree in business, marketing, or a related field
  • 5+ years of proven experience in category management in FMCG
  • Good understanding of retail, familiarity with market trends and industry dynamics
  • Strong analytical, strategic and critical thinking skills
  • Solid business acumen, good project management skills
  • Ability to read data and transform it into the business insights, advanced storytelling skills
  • Excellent influencing, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong experience with Nielsen, other data sources are considered of a strong plus
  • MS Office advanced user
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken; other languages are considered a plus
