KPS Engineering Manager

About the Role:

Manage the INDIA Projects (project management) and Industrial Engineering team. Accountable for the KPS toys product development (Industrialization phase) and related KPI results: timing, cost, and other project deliverables (aesthetics, playability, safety, etc..).

Key responsibilities: (1) coordinate the industrial partner’s development effort ensuring the timely development of industrial tools and process set-up to ensure timely delivery of overall toy production. (2) Deliver timely cost modifications in line with company target costs. (3) Monitor/Guarantee smooth production start-up. (4) Work with operations development to Monitor/Improve the industrial partners’ performance. (5) Lead & coordinate the Mold development with Chinese & Local Mold makers, in terms of strategy, cost & timely delivery. (6) Work with operations development to enhance the industrial partner’s development effort with introduction of Automations for toy injection, PP & assembly driving efficiency road maps to support volume expansion and cost. (7) Guide and fostering process automation seeking better efficiency/cost management.

Part of the Global Engineering Team (Engineering Pillar Program), contributing as SME to knowhow and best practices consolidation Globally.

Main Responsibilities:

Project Management: lead the toys project management team. In charge to monitor/improve the INDIA development performance (development time, costs, and other project deliverables). Manage criticalities and escalations with internal and external stakeholders. Provide updated status report (monthly) to Head of Operation INDIA. Guarantee the alignment of the project status and relevant reporting tools (project list, PLM, etc…)

Product Engineering: Contribute to the concept feasibility check (previous and during project Handover from STEDI team to Industrial team). Contribute to the Engineering changes definition on critical cases (time sensitive, quality sensitive or cost sensitive). Contribute to standardization and consolidation of best practices and feedback to relevant stakeholders. Responsible for functional standard definition (measurement of toy performances, in coordination and agreement with Quality and Marketing).

Process Engineering: lead the toys industrial and tooling engineering team. Monitor the execution of moulds and the other process related tooling’s to guarantee quality and capacity. Follow-up critical project start-up to guarantee required capacity is available and rump-up is completed as planned.

In charge of best practices definition and implementation at the production sites (in line with quality). Mass production issues debug team member (in line with quality)

Automation Engineering: Act as support for implementation of automation technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs, working closely with KPS partners and KPS central engineering.

Industrial partners development and management: Works proactively to apply a solid and collaborative relationship («partnership» approach) towards key partners. Monitor and improve the industrial partners performances (development timing KPI, Safety KPI, Production efficiency KPI) and the overall quality performance (focusing on, but not limited to Ferrero quality assessment (audit) results). Partner with operations development, quality and other operations functions to optimize the industrial partners footprint.

Managing process governance and performance: Defining and ensuring process governance, involving all pertinent stakeholders. This includes establishing and adhering to KPS Procedures, ensuring their accessibility on relevant portals such as PLM & SAP. Additionally, you'll lead efforts to ensure team members comply with the KPS engineering & Industrialisation Manual.

Engineering Pillar team membership:

Contribute to the knowhow consolidation and best practice sharing among different production Areas. Be part of the continuous improvement team, following-up the Pillar masterplan

 

 

About You:

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 8 - 12 years of experience

SPECIFIC KNOWLEGE (if required)

  • Plastic manufacturing knowledge (Automotive, Appliances, Toys background). Fluent in English. Italian and Hindi key advantages.
  • Previous International or overseas experience a must have
  • Automation knowledge, capable of build road maps to drive efficiency in this function.
  • Procurement management, knowledge of cost, Negotiations, Vendor Management, SAP transactions related to procurement.
  • Team management experience and strong leadership skills
  • Strong competence in MS Excel, MS ppt, MS word.
  • Confident in presenting to Board members and Lux HQ Lead Team.
