Data Engineer - Analytics
About the Role:
Ferrero India is looking to fill the full-time position of a Data Engineer reporting to the central Data & AI team. This position covers all countries and categories in which Ferrero operates.
The Data Engineer, which is an emerging role in Ferrero’s Data & AI team, will play a pivotal role in operationalizing the most critical advanced analytics initiatives for Ferrero’s digital and business transformation objectives. The bulk of the Data Engineer’s work will be to support data scientists, collaborating with data analysts and technical teams to prepare modeling-ready datasets by integrating across systems large existing datasets related to all our brands globally, ensuring they meet the requirements of the data science project or program.
The Data Engineer will be measured on their ability to effectively build, optimize and manage multiple pipelines with little supervision and to adhere to Data Science, Machine Learning and AI modeling requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Integrate existing data pipelines and databases: Working in Group tools to integrate existing local pipelines and databases to meet modelling requirements.
- Build new data pipelines: The Group is implementing new platforms to collect digital & media marketing campaigns, customer, global syndicated, and Open Innovation R&D data - directly at source or through 3rd party agencies and providers, and the Data Engineer will be part of those project teams to understand the full collection cycle. They will then take over responsibility - together with the Data Engineering Team and IT partners - to build and manage the pipelines and datasets to bring the data into Ferrero IT architecture for analytics products modelling.
- Support Consumer Master data governance initiatives: The Data Engineer will be responsible for supporting projects related to the standardization of data within the Consumer domain.
About You:
Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Data Management, Information Systems, Information Science or a related quantitative field.
- Two to five years of work experience relevant to data engineering responsibilities and tasks; preferably within a data science team or on modelling projects.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and cross-cultural teams.
Required IT Skills:
- Strong experience with ETL tools (Microsoft Fabric, Fabric Data Engineering, Databricks, Analysis Services); SQL database design / architecture / management; and data catalog technology (Purview + Databricks Unity Catalog).
- Proficiency in Python and Spark for ETL pipelines.
- Knowledge of Advanced Analytics techniques; MLOps, Python would be a plus.
- Familiarity with AI Platforms (MS AI Foundry), big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, etc), cloud computing platforms (MS Azure) and Git code versioning through Azure DevOps.
- Understanding data security and compliance.

- Curiosity, problem solving and genuine interest in data, technology and the FMCG industry;
- Fluent in English;
- Other languages and international experience a plus.
