About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Plant Materials Management & Obsolescence Specialist to join our team in Pozzuolo Martesana (MI). Reporting to the Plant Operating Planning Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability of all materials to guarantee production feasibility while maintaining an efficient and cost-effective flow of materials. You will also be in charge of monitoring stock levels and freshness for all categories in the plant (finished products, semi-finished goods, raw materials, etc.) and activating all possible measures to minimize potential destruction.
Main Responsibilities:
As a Plant Materials Management & Obsolescence Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of fresh and dry raw materials, semi-finished goods, and packaging materials in alignment with production schedules. You will monitor material inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to avoid shortages or overstocking. You will manage stock rotation, shelf-life monitoring, and obsolescence in collaboration with Quality and Supply Chain teams and you will handle and document processes related to the destruction of expired or non-conforming materials (finished, raw, semi-finished, packaging). Part of your responsibilities will be maintaining accurate data in the SAP system regarding material availability, shelf life, usage, and incoming deliveries. You will collaborate closely with the Production Planners to ensure that materials are available for all planned production activities.
Supporting root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives in case of material-related issues affecting production will be part of your tasks, along with contributing to the optimization of stock levels, material flows, and warehouse space utilization. You will coordinate with Procurement and Suppliers to resolve delivery delays, quality deviations, or other supply chain disruptions.
Who we are looking for:
You will bring a Master’s degree in Management Engineering, Logistics, or a related field, combined with your previous experience (1+ years) in material management, planning, or supply chain.
Your strong knowledge of raw material handling, inventory control, and SAP systems will ensure efficient operations and your excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills will help you thrive in this role.
As a good communicator, your fluency in both Italian and English will be an asset for this position.
