Senior Manager, Trade Marketing - Mainstream Chocolate Seasons & Kinder Snacks
About the Role:
We have a current opening for a Sr. Trade Marketing Manager, FMC & Kinder Snacks and are actively reviewing applications.
Sitting at the intersection of Brand Marketing, Sales, Category Management and Revenue Growth Management, this role will translate annual brand and category strategies into winning omni-channel commercial activation plans that drive distribution, sales velocity, merchandising excellence, promotional effectiveness and profitable growth across retail channels.
The Senior Manager, Trade Marketing for Mainstream Chocolate and Kinder Snacks will lead the development of launch strategies, Price Pack Architecture (PPA), commercial innovation plans and portfolio optimization initiatives to maximize growth opportunities across the confectionery and snacking categories. This role will identify white-space opportunities, strengthen retail execution and ensure new products and existing brands are positioned for success in a dynamic consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment.
As a key commercial partner to Brand, Sales and Category Leadership, this individual will leverage deep expertise in trade marketing, shopper insights, customer marketing and the U.S. retail landscape to deliver best-in-class activation strategies that drive category growth and win at the point of purchase across all channels.
This role is hybrid, and will be based out of our North American HQ in Parsippany, NJ.
Main Responsibilities:
Trade Marketing & Go-to-Market Strategy
- Develop and lead annual Go-to-Market plans, defining distribution, assortment, shelving, merchandising, pricing and promotional priorities.
- Develop the Trade Marketing strategy for Ferrero Mainstream Chocolate (FMC) and Kinder Snacks, translating brand strategy into actionable channel and retail plans.
- Develop the annual trade and retail activation calendar, including innovation launches, seasonal programs, key selling moments and promotional tentpoles.
Retail Activation & Commercialization
- Monitor competitive activity, retailer trends and category dynamics and translate insights into business plans
- Develop channel-appropriate merchandising, display and Point of Sale (POS) strategies that bring brand priorities to life at retail.
POS/Display & Pack Architecture
- Develop trade and consumer unit pack/price architecture framework to deliver strategic channel and customer opportunities from stage 1 to all the new product launch, and reassess all the current Brands PPA to highlight possible white spaces to close
- Responsible (with Marketing) for the development, push and execution of in-store activations and POS.
- Partner with Brand and Packaging team to develop solutions to challenge status quo and improve profitability where possible
Trade Investment & Business Performance
- Provide input into demand planning and S&OP based on distribution changes, promotions, innovation, and customer/channel plans.
- Partner with Shopper Marketing on the shopper marketing plans and eCommerce investment
- Partner with Marketing on the proposal for the Budget (volume and revenue) of the assigned brands
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Revenue Growth Management and Finance to shape promotional plans and trade investment priorities.
People Leadership
- Operates in accordance with Group guidelines to recruit, manage, motivate, coach and develop 2 direct Trade Marketing reports.
- Directs and maintains various activities designed to promote and maintain a high level of employee engagement.
- Lead, coach and develop Trade Marketing team members while building strong cross-functional ways of working.
About You:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Customer Marketing, Category Management, Commercial Planning, or other Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) commercial leadership roles.
- Strong Trade Marketing experience within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success translating brand strategy into go-to-market, channel strategy, commercial planning and retail activation programs.
- Strong understanding of U.S. retail and CPG fundamentals, including distribution, assortment, shelving, merchandising, pricing, promotion and retail execution.
- Experience leading innovation launches, seasonal programs, retail activation, point-of-sale (POS) development, display strategy and promotional planning.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience leveraging data, insights and analytics to identify growth opportunities, optimize investments and drive profitable growth.
- Experience partnering closely with Sales, Brand Marketing, Category Management, Revenue Growth Management and cross-functional commercial teams to deliver business objectives.
- Experience developing strategies across multiple U.S. retail channels, customers and routes-to-market; experience with major national retailers strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of shopper behavior, customer strategy and the retail path to purchase.
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and align teams around commercial strategy.
- Proven ability to build relationships and drive results in a highly matrixed, cross-functional organization.
- Previous people leadership and team development experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field required; MBA preferred.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and data-driven business analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to present compelling business cases, category insights and strategic recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders.

The base compensation range for this position is $166,000.00 - $208,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
