The Local Packaging Specialist USA is responsible for the end-to-end execution of packaging projects and daily tasks relevant to the development of local industrial briefs and activities.  This position serves as a first touch point for all the area activities across products, categories and brands in support to the North America Region Packaging Manager.  This position will report to the North America Deployment Manager and sit in our Parsippany, N.J. office.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Packaging research & development to support new product launches & promos, in line with the Group requirements and guidelines related to Innovation, Cost & Sustainability
  • Manages entire development process - Packaging design to industrial execution ensuring structural performance, Quality, cost improvements, food safety and complexity management;
  • Drive development through effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders during the development phase of new packaging and improvement in existing packaging optimization. 
  • Explores and develops new packaging technologies to support innovative packaging design through partnerships with leading edge suppliers, copacker, Plastic recycling/ reprocessing organization;
  • Supports Engineering Dept. for implementation of new packaging lines; attends and monitors packaging industrial trials; evaluates and shares outcomes to drive design decisions during project development phase;
  • Ensures technical documentation through the creation of technical drawings & specification, data sheets in accordance with the guidelines of the Packaging Department.
  • Knowledge of Packaging material specifications (Flexible & Paper Pkg), Supplier network, Packaging trends.  
Who we are looking for:
  • The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience as a packaging Engineer/ designer.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging required, M.S. is preferred.
  • Experience of CPG / Food industry
  • Project management, problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills are considered as mandatory for the role;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Flexibility, adaptability and aptitude to teamwork
  • Expertise & Exposure of working in Cross functional team,
  • Availability to travel and transfer;
  • Knowledge of standard packaging materials and related industrials technologies.
IT Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of ArtiosCAD, CAPE, SAP
  • MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)
