Customer Marketing Manager, Kroger

About the Role:
The Customer Marketing Manager, Kroger will be responsible for the in-store activity strategy to execute the brand objectives at retail for Kroger. This includes developing Go to Market plan for Kroger driving the execution standards for Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Pricing. This position owns the in-store activity calendar for the Customer and helps deliver the DSMP and Financial KPI attainment for all Ferrero brands at Kroger. This position will collaborate among key cross-functional internal relationships, including Category Management, Marketing, Category Trade Marketing, Sales, Revenue Management, and Demand Planning. This position will support the Kroger Customer Team in the implementation of the Joint Business Planning process. The position will be based in our US Headquarters in Parsippany, NJ and reports to the SVP of Trade Marketing.
Main Responsibilities:
• Develop the in-store activity strategy to execute the brands strategy at retail for Kroger
• Develop the Go to Market plan including execution standards for Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Pricing (DSMP) for Kroger
• Partner with customer teams and Marketing to develop tailored, actionable plans to drive accelerated growth or improve profitability at Kroger
• Develop the in-store activity calendar for Kroger
• Responsible for defining the in-store execution objectives to be tracked for execution
• Responsible for the development, implementation and management of display tools and formats, adapted to Kroger
• Responsible for the development and implementation of customized customer specific POS (e.g. permanent endcap merchandising)
• Monitor competitive activity to ensure external factors are incorporated into business plans
• Work with Revenue Management to optimize Trade Spend Effectiveness by reviewing post promotional assessments and Return of Investment for trade spend lines to adjust activity plan for Kroger
• Supports the planning and execution of both the seasonal and everyday portfolio for Kroger
• Provide feedback to cross functional teams on barriers, blockers, and Kroger requirements to build effective plans that can be executed in Kroger
• Support customer team on implementation of the Joint Business Planning Process
• Develop trade and consumer unit pack/price architecture framework to deliver strategic channel and customer opportunities
• Ensure proper lead time and content for best-in-class innovation launches, meeting customer lead times
• Aligns with Marketing, Sales, and Revenue Management on the trade spend budget and promotion plan
• Aligns with shopper Marketing on the shopper marketing plans and eCommerce investment for Kroger
• Maintains the shopper marketing budget across categories specific to Kroger, in line with activity plan
• Ensure clear lines of communication between Trade Marketing, Brand Marketing and Customer Teams
• Monitor customer team performance and engage with teams as necessary to ensure KPI attainment
About You:
• 5-7 years relevant experience required, CPG Foods experience is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in a business/marketing discipline required; MBA a plus
• Financial acumen and P&L management with an understanding of the need for rigor regarding spending choices and the importance of ROI
• Syndicated data experience (IRI or Nielsen) where candidate has pulled their own data
• Interpersonal skills to interface effectively with the necessary internal and external stakeholders, building solid relationships and customer influencing skills
• Strategic and proactive thinking to develop category strategies and translate them into distribution, shelving, pricing and merchandising objectives
• Solid MS Office skills, especially Excel & PowerPoint, and Storytelling capabilities to translate data & insights into selling narratives
• Management presentation competencies to effectively present key category insights in front of internal and external stakeholders
• Global mindset; desire to build a successful career with a growing global company
• Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
• 25% Travel required for customer meetings and industry events

Compensation Data
The base salary range for this position is $118,00 - $150,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
