Associate Brand Manager - Kinder Seasonal

About the Role:

 

Kinder was first introduced to the US in 2017 with the launch of Kinder Joy, bringing something new to the chocolate category. Kinder Joy is a unique egg-shaped product that generates a surprise experience and creates special parents/child bonding moments. One half of the egg is a sweet treat — two chocolate sweet cream layers topped with cocoa wafer bites. The other half, an interactive toy, that needs assembly and has moving parts for lots of fun. In 2019, Kinder expanded its portfolio to include seasonal items to help families celebrate special moments together. The portfolio focuses on four main seasons; Winter Holidays, Halloween, Easter and Valentine’s Day, and offers a variety of products for children and families including hollow figures, filled chocolates, gift boxes and iconic shapes. 

 

The Kinder team is looking for a dynamic and intellectually curious Associate Brand Manager for the Kinder Seasonal portfolio which includes Kinder Joy and Kinder seasonal chocolates. The Associate Brand Manager will report to the Marketing Director - Kinder Seasonal and will help build and execute the vision for leadership within the seasonal category in the US and execute plans for innovation in the short and long-term. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of strong analytical and project management skills, with a high attention to details and a keen sense of creativity. The focus of this role is to manage the day- to-day operations of the seasonal portfolio, leading the cross-functional team in delivering product innovation and working with our agency partners and internal partners to develop and execute integrated marketing communications plans and world-class creative to break-through the highly competitive seasonal chocolate category.  

 

The focus of this role is to keep driving the Kinder seasonal growth in the US market by:

  1.  Increasing household penetration during key seasons
  2. Delivering integrated marketing campaigns for seasonal product launches
  3. Maximizing potential for existing assortment through channel development/expansion
  4. Driving visibility throughout the path of purchase during key seasons

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Business and Brand Analysis, Monitoring and Reporting 
    • Provide in-depth market, competitive and brand analysis to assist in formulating seasonal strategy 
    • Analyze seasonal results to ensure strategies are working and objectives are being realized, recommending course correction where relevant
    • Actively manage brand marketing budget (planning, revisions and reporting)

 

  • New Product Launches and Commercialization
    • Manage activity grid implementation and innovation development
    • Lead the cross-functional team (project planning, development and execution)
    • Interact with global teams for activity grid alignments and approvals 
    • Work closely with Category management and Trade Marketing to develop compelling sell-in stories/toolkits to ensure customer acceptance of innovation
    • Work closely with supply and demand teams to ensure product and product availability and forecast accuracy

 

  • Communications and Shopper Planning Execution
    • Collaborate with agencies in creative and asset development for use in consumer and shopper activations
    • Set and track KPIs, offering recommendations for optimization of plans/assets 

 

  • Leadership and self-management
    • Comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
    • Manage cross functional integration and engagement 
    • Lead relations with agencies (PR, media, packaging)
    • Present in front of senior management

Who we are looking for:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in CPG brand marketing 
  • Experience working with syndicated databases; i.e. IRI, ACNielsen 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects within scheduled timelines
  • Possess project management skills (planning, execution and assessment)
  • Understand key trade channels (Convenience, Food, Drug, Mass, Club, e-Com)
  • Experience in managing seasonal is a plus
  • Passion, energy and drive to work with world-class brands
  • Must be self-motivated and exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent analytical skills upon which to base decision-making
  • Business acumen, with a knack for turning data into insights and recommendations 
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Structured and organized in managing projects and timelines
  • Team player able to effectively work with multi-functional team
  • Motivated to advance in a merit-based, multinational organization
  • Adaptable to foreign cultures
