Category Finance Manager
About the Role:
We have a current opening for a Category Finance Manager and are actively reviewing
applications.
The purpose of a Category Finance Manager is to manage Category P&L. The incumbent will plan
innovation and renovation activities and related investments evaluation. They will define target per Category and drill
down for Planning/Budget/SAF process, in collaboration with the Canada Business Unit Controller.
• The Category Finance Manager is responsible for supporting the organization by
providing financial leadership in portfolio and category management through financial
analysis, new business assessment & rationalization to achieve overall value creation
and profit delivery.
• Partner with Brand, Trade Marketing, Marketing Operations, Supply Chain and Industrial
teams to provide leadership, insight, guidance, and key indicators for timely identification
of risks and opportunities.
• Analysis of Brand’s new product proposals including new displays from gathering data,
validating assumptions, modelling scenarios and proposing recommendations.
• Control, analyze/deep dive, and report on all Cost of Sales lines and Advertising and
Promotion (A&P) including daily operations and management.
• Support delivery of overall company financial objectives and ensure integrity, timeliness
of reporting and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance and control of activities to satisfy audit requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
STRATEGIC PORTFOLIO & PROFITABILITY MANAGEMENT
• Develop financial leadership, structure, and detailed Brand and SKU profitability analysis, providing insights
into key profit drivers.
• Support new business proposals and existing initiatives through business assessment, simulations, and
investment evaluations.
• Maintain tight control over product, format, channel, and SKU mix to ensure value creation and profit
delivery.
• Conduct economic evaluation of capital expenditures and support business process redesign initiatives.
• Lead and support efficiency improvement projects with a continuous improvement mindset.
PLANNING
• Define target in terms of P&L and investments and discuss/negotiate Category innovation targets at
Country level.
• Support business decision making for Planning/Budget/SAF by analyzing Category financial results and
identifying improvement areas.
• Provide synthesis at Group level for Planning/Budget/SAF in terms of financial results and investment
programs; support Group Planning & Controlling in challenging local entities on Budget targets.
• Analyze financial results and key trends, assess current and future business risks, and communicate
opportunities & risks based on SKU portfolio performance.
• Identify risks and opportunities versus Budget and proactively propose corrective actions, including inputs
for cost of sales, A&P, and value chain costs.
• Develop expertise in SAP and Value Chain reporting dynamics to support planning accuracy and financial
transparency.
CONTROLLING AND REPORTING
• Perform controlling and reporting activities for the Category, analyzing financial statements and key
performance indicators.
• Identify fluctuations between planned and actual profit margins at Brand and SKU level; communicate
issues and propose profit improvement actions.
• Follow up on planned new initiatives to monitor results and return on investments.
• Manage data analysis and reporting to support decision making across Marketing, Supply Chain and
Industrial teams.
• Lead cost of sales analysis and provide recommendations in collaboration with Industrial and Supply Chain
teams.
• Participate in business development, strategic growth initiatives, and ad hoc financial analyses.
INTERNAL CONTROL AND PROCESS OPTIMIZATION
• Monitor compliance with internal controls, processes, and Group policies.
• Identify system and process gaps and recommend actions to improve data quality, efficiency, and
transparency.
• Continuously enhance internal models, reporting tools, and use of technology to focus on value-added
activities.
• Support deployment of Central guidelines, methodologies, and Group-driven initiatives related to the
Category.
About You:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA or CPA strongly
preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant finance experience required
• Experience in Brand/Marketing, Sales, Financial Reporting, or Financial Planning is an asset
• Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with data
• visualization tools such as Power BI or other relevant software is an asset
• Knowledge of SAP (FI/CO modules) is an asset
• Knowledge of financial reporting systems is preferred (Hyperion Financial Management and
Oracle)

The base salary range for this position is $101,646 - $135,528 annually. (Actual compensation
will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors
permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
