About the Role:
The Operations Manager (UGP Manager) is responsible for directing and managing the day to day efforts of the production employees in the plant to ensure attainment of all operational goals in the Plant. You will be responsible for promoting and enforcing all company guidelines, policies and good manufacturing practices (GMPs) pertaining to all facets of the business, including food safety and health and safety.
Main Responsibilities:

Manages activities of the day to day production of finished goods including both processing and packaging to ensure smooth, efficient plant operation.

Adheres to budget and cost control practices while meeting scheduled production expectations

Provides guidance, support, and coaching assistance as appropriate to all employees, maintaining consistent application of disciplinary procedures.

Analyzes and recommends improvements or modifications including capital expenditures to upgrade and improve the overall plant operation in terms of cost, efficiencies, quality, safety and sanitation.

Collaborates with maintenance, planning, and quality leadership to maximize the plant’s effectiveness.

Drives continuous improvement in all aspects of the operation with a focus on safety, food safety, and Lean manufacturing criteria

Respect and enforce internal quality, hygiene, HACCP and environmental rules

Participates in the development of the long range business plan and ensures implementation through the Production Supervisors, Team Leads, and all hourly associates.

Ability to inspire others, foster inclusivity, and drive initiatives that align with the organization’s vision.
Who we are looking for:
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business discipline or equivalent work experience
- In depth knowledge of food processing, packaging, quality and safety standards
- Strong leadership ability and decision-making skills
- Three years of plant operations supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment including both hourly and salaried personnel
- Experience with SAP, Maintenance Management Systems, and employee timekeeping systems preferred
- Ability to use analytical skills to drive out costs and waste
- Food & Beverage Sector is a preference
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
