General Manager, Nutella Cafe

The Café General Manager maintains overall management of the café on a day-to-day basis. To accomplish that objective, you will monitor and manage the tracking of daily sales records and human resource records, ensure that standards are met for service and food quality, model and support Nutella’s culture, and interview, hire, train and coach café team members.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Accomplish café human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  • Achieve café operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
  • Meet restaurant financial objectives by forecasting requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiate corrective actions
  • Plan menus with direction from Nutella division management; estimates food costs and profits
  • Control costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation; minimizes waste; ensures high quality of preparation
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding of fast casual restaurant operations and restaurant management principles and practices
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage codes as well as health and safety codes
  • Proven ability to supervise team members, collaborate with and influence others, as well as make good, reasoned judgments
  • Strong communication skills coupled with a strong commitment to customer service
  • Understanding of payroll systems and processes, applicable employment laws and regulations, and general knowledge of HR policies and procedures
  • Strong organization and planning skills; proven ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task with minimal supervision
  • Ability to be an effective team member, manage stress in a fast paced environment, and maintain confidentiality
  • Familiarity with café operations equipment and tools; knowledge of budgeting, planning, inventory and accounting software
Other Requirements
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience with fast casual restaurant operations
  • At least 3 years of management experience in restaurant operations
  • Preferred experience working with start-up restaurants
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Open availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
