About the Role:

Ferrero Headquarters in Luxembourg is looking for a Region Africa&Levant Food Safety&Quality Manager (Region AFL FSQ Manager) to provide food safety and quality support to the Region of Africa & Levante for the Group Food Safety and Quality function (FSQ). 

 

In this role you will report to APAC-MEA Area FSQ Manager and to the Africa & Levante Region General Manager while you will be the line manager of the FSQ resources based within the region and the various clusters. You will be responsible for effective management of the Food Safety & Quality performances within the plants in the reference region to ensure a compliant application of FSQ Standards. You will be responsible for Food Safety & Quality issues and incidents management at local level, focusing on their prevention avoiding recurrences, and sharing them with the regional stakeholders and other Central and Area functions. 

 

You will act as Region Business Counterpart and be responsible for Food Safety and Quality continuity in the Region

Main Responsibilities:

As the FSQ Region Manager for Africa & Levante you will be responsible for business relationship management, alignment of Group FSQ strategy and full compliance with the Group standards at the Region level. You will represent FSQ at the Region's Board and lead the FSQ governance at Region level. Additionally, you will be accountable for the prioritization of FSQ activities supporting Region stakeholders. 

 

You will manage the portfolio of processes currently live within the Region, in alignment with Global FSQ Leaders and the Area of APAC-MEA. You will be responsible for managing KPIs and new projects, giving every stakeholder a clear definition of scope, costs and timing. Your responsibilities will also include contributing to the development and up-skilling of Region resources. 

 

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the timely,  correct and consistent management of all commercial quality,  non-conformities or consumer complaints, within plants, warehouses and 3POs; and be responsible for the timely,  correct and consistent application of RCA (root cause analysis) and CAPA (corrective and preventive actions). You will support the specific and transversal task force to accelerate Non-conformity/Consumer Complaints problem resolution 

 

 

FSQ STRATEGY  

Covering this role, you will contribute to the strategy and evolution of FSQ processes and you will promote FSQ Strategy orientation for the Region. You will also implement, animate and proactively adopt FSQ governance processes and operating model. 

 

You will communicate and implement the long-term FSQ vision, strategy and plans to Region Business Managers according to Group FSQ imperatives and represent FSQ at Region and Area governance Boards. 

 

 

FSQ BUDGET AND BUSINESS SUPPORT 

Your activities will include managing business requirements and helping prioritize resources based on business benefits, business constraints, Group FSQ Strategy and its imperatives. You will act as a single point of contact for Region Business Stakeholders, leading prioritization of initiatives and identifying potential trade-offs. 

 

 

You will also oversee Region total FSQ budget (both CAPEX and OPEX) and manage trade-offs by engaging Central and Area FSQ. 

 

Additionally, you will promote relevant projects to the business in alignment with Region needs collected/foreseen by the business and leverage new approaches to enable business objectives. You will be the reference point for FSQ related product or process changes at Region level. 

 

 

OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS, PERFORMANCE​ AND GOVERNANCE 

In this position, you will support Region requirements related to crisis while ensuring support to the Region business. You will also ensure and monitor compliance with Group Governance, Risk and Compliance guidelines, audit requirements and FSQ functional control standards at Region level. 

 

You will be accountable for managing people assigned, ensuring a management system based on Group values, motivation, competence development and empowerment. Additionally, you will recruit, manage, motivate, coach and develop your team, guaranteeing Human Resources professional development, evaluating people and proposing development initiatives.​ 

Who we are looking for:

You will bring your university degree background in Food Sciences, or other related fields and  8-12 years of experience in leadership roles in Food Safety & Quality within a multinational environment. You have a sound knowledge of food safety, food technology, food chemicals and microbiological analysis.  

 

Having previous experience as a Plant Food Safety&Quality manager is a strong asset.  

 

You have experience in raw materials, packaging and product risk analysis and management, principles of statistical sampling and control in food industry, Pest Control ISO Certification Scheme (ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000, ISO 19000, etc.), allergen management, Private Certification Scheme, Food legislation (GMP, HACCP, etc.).  

 

Being an excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills, you will conduct and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and you’re comfortable interacting with different hierarchical levels. 

 

You are fluent in English and you have an excellent MS Office knowledge.
