About the Role:

As a Retail Controller your main focus will be to provide financial support, advice and expertise to the Retail Leadership Team. You will become the Business Partner for our Stores channels, alongside a traditional management accounting role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Production of period end management account information for Thorntons Retail store estate, enabling the Retail MD to present a fair assessment of the period to the Ferrero Board, for strategic review and decision-making purposes
  • Drive the annual budgeting process by organising timelines, delivering information, influencing decisions and preparing relevant documentation for the annual budget
  • Drive the forecasting process to provide a complete, accurate and timely forecast for the remainder of the year in line with Group timetable
  • Development of ad hoc reports to investigate and monitor business performance to enable the business to maximise profitability through a supported decision-making process
  • Responsibility for ensuring that the Financial Control Environment is maintained and fit for purpose
  • Provide financial and analytical support, advice and insight on relevant business issues
  • Influence business processes, recommending actions to increase channel effectiveness
  • Partner, influence and challenge a range of stakeholders up to senior management level
  • To act as a Superuser for XLCubed reporting system, developing ad hoc reports and ensuring that the quality and integrity of data is maintained

 

Who we are looking for:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance 
  • At least 3 years’ experience in similar roles 
  • Experience gained in FMCG company or Retail industry
  • Knoweldge of SAP, Excel advanced, CIMA qualified or qualified by experience
  • Knowledge and strong interests in financial analysis preparation, accounting, planning, taxes, or administration preferred 
  • Business partnering and strong relationship building
  • Fluency in English
