About the Role:

We currently have an opportunity for a Food Law Counsel to join our UK and Ireland Legal team. Based at our office in Greenford and connected with the global Ferrero Food Law Centre of Competence, the position is responsible for all food law and regulatory matters in the UK and Ireland Region.

Main Responsibilities:

Reporting into the General Counsel for the Region you will ensure our products and labelling are fully compliant and will manage labelling and artwork approvals, ingredients, packaging and marketing claims, including related health and nutrition claims and ethical declarations.

You should be comfortable working across departments in the Region and at Group level to ensure legislative developments, issues and risks are identified and will assess and communicate the impacts to the business. As the lead for Food Law matters in the Region you will be expected to develop the company’s strategy in this area working closely with the relevant business stakeholders.

You will provide advice, training and support to the various operational teams to validate the compliance of our finished products through the key stages of development, delivery and sale, including our retail and online activities.

You should be comfortable acting as the main point of contact with our external consultants, agencies and trade associations and engage with the same, representing Ferrero’s interests in the food law area during a critical period of change and upheaval for the industry.

Who we are looking for:

To be successful in this role you will have specific knowledge of UK food labelling legislation and related regulatory standards and ideally be a practising solicitor in England & Wales, however the company will consider facilitating a training contract for the right candidate. There is considerable scope for future career development in a dynamic global legal team and part of a business that has an enviable reputation for innovation and quality.

Apart from a solid knowledge of food laws and regulations you should be comfortable providing reliable, commercially aware advice within a fast-moving in-house environment.  You may already advise on this area of law in-house, through an agency or in private practice. We need someone with a high level of drive and initiative willing to take the lead in this area, using their interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders alike. Excellent prioritisation skills will be essential in order for you to support multiple projects simultaneously and effectively manage all elements of the role.

How to be successful in the role and at Ferrero:

Consumers, quality and care are at the heart of everything we do. So, to be successful at Ferrero, you’ll need to be just as consumer and product centric as we are - dedicated to crafting brilliant results for consumers around the world.
