National Key Account Manager
About the Role:
This role is responsible for managing and developing strategic relationships with key national accounts in the modern trade sector within South Africa's confectionery market. The role is pivotal in driving volume growth, revenue expansion, and gross margin improvement through optimized product mix. The successful candidate is expected to leverage deep market insights, exceptional negotiation skills, and financial acumen to deliver outstanding results, while collaborating cross-functionally to align operations with consumer behaviour and occasions. The focus will be on achieving ambitious sales targets, enhancing market penetration, and ensuring operational excellence in a dynamic FMCG environment.

About You:
Requirements & Experience:
- 7-10 years in FMCG sales, with at least 5 years in key account management, preferably in the confectionery or food/beverage sector.
- Proven track record in modern trade channels in South Africa
- Demonstrated success in driving volume and revenue growth, with quantifiable achievements in gross margin improvement.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM systems, ERP software, data analysis tools. Familiarity with forecasting models and financial modeling

- Exceptional ability to negotiate win-win outcomes in high-stakes environments.
- Strong understanding of P&L management, budgeting, and ROI analysis.
- Advanced skills in demand forecasting, with a data-driven approach.
- Ability to manage end-to-end operations, from planning to execution.
- Deep knowledge of consumer behaviour, occasions, and modern trade trends in South Africa.
- Proven ability to work seamlessly with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving, resilience under pressure, excellent communication (verbal and written), and leadership skills.
