Plant FSQ Manager Hangzhou

About the Role:

Implements all the necessary Guidelines to manage the overall Food Safety & Quality inside Plants, according to the food safety & quality policies defined by Group FSQ. Activate all necessary levers to guarantee and monitor product and productive process’ food safety & quality, according to the standard defined in the Ferrero static plan and by Group FSQ, and in compliance with all the standards of hygiene and Food Safety in food industry. Ensures that Plant personnel is adequately trained on FSQ aspects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure an efficient and effective management of FSQ in manufacturing, with reference to raw materials, packaging, semi-finished and finished products acceptance, with particular attention to Food Safety and organoleptic aspects of the products
  • Implement FSQ plans, improvement initiatives and projects at a plant level, ensuring central guidelines and legal and scientific standards are correctly applied
    Measure compliance with FSQ through all transformation processes (incoming, transformation, finished product release, …) through sampling plans, audits and company information systems
  • Implement within the plant all Food Safety improvement initiatives (Thermal validation, EMP, Cleaning, Infrastructure & Equipment, Zoning, FP Positive Release, RM Positive Release, …) and risk preventing actions according to CAPA methods
  • Ensure efficient and effective implementation, maintenance and application of Plant Food Safety & Quality guidelines according to the Policy and Procedure defined by Group FSQ SMEs (product excellence, Food Safety, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and to similar schemes required by Group and Clients), and based on the risk analysis according to HACCP methodologies
    Propose improvement to existing guidelines and take care of their communication to Region and Area teams, providing feedbacks and improvements, in case of not-effective application of identified policies/ procedure and methodologies
  • Monitor and supervise plant operations to ensure adherence to established Food Safety and Quality protocols, intervening as necessary to maintain compliance
  • Guarantee certifications requirements are respected (on Food Safety & Quality system, product system, ethic and religion), ensuring product compliance for all the receiving markets (interacting with them) and coherence with products' claims
  • Support and assist (liaising with RFSQM) internal and external authorities during investigation, controls and visits, on FSQ, ethics and religion topics
  • Ensure the proper collection from the plant of industrial FSQ KPIs, being responsible for collected data accuracy
  • Management and decision making within the Plant on FSQ Non-conformities and Consumer Complaints (e.g. Product unsafe that exposes or might expose consumer to a serious health risk - Contamination by harmful foreign bodies, toxic compounds, chemical residuals or pathogens; presence of not declared allergen, critical issues for the regional business, …)
    Block all non-compliant materials / processes (incoming materials, semi-finished and finished products), consulting Area FSQ I&S, RFSQM and AFSQM
  • Carry out root-cause analysis on occurred critical non-conformities and support the impacted Subject Matter Expert in the identification of the actions to be implemented to avoid re-occurrence

About You:

You are rigorous, detail-oriented, and excel in a fast-paced plant environment where food safety and quality are non-negotiable. With a minimum of 10 years of relevant quality management experience in the food industry, you have a proven track record of implementing and upholding high food safety and product quality standards across plant operations. Fluency in English and Chinese is mandatory, enabling effective communication with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills allow you to build strong relationships, resolve conflicts, and ensure clear alignment on quality objectives at all organizational levels. As a natural leader, you possess strong team management capabilities, with the ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a quality team to achieve excellence and meet organizational goals. 

You have in-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 22000, and similar quality and food safety management schemes, and you are skilled at applying these standards to drive continuous improvement in plant processes. You have comprehensive mastery of China Food Safety Law, and are experienced in communicating and conducting official compliance reviews with local food safety regulatory authorities. Proactive and solution-driven, you excel at identifying potential quality risks, implementing corrective actions, and fostering a culture of quality and accountability.
