About the Role:

We're looking for a dynamic General Procurement Buyer to lead the way in managing the People Services and Facilities Management categories, with the opportunity to dive into other General Procurement areas as needed.  You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to oversee regional procurement activities, driving value and optimising costs for our business.  In this role, you'll be at the forefront of implementing Group Procurement strategies in the UK&I region, navigating timelines, managing risks, and building strong supplier relationships.  You’ll also work together with Group Procurement to align local needs with global projects, ensuring compliance and consistency with all policies and procedures.
If you're ready to make a strategic impact in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

Main Responsibilities:

In this role, you'll dive deep into understanding your assigned procurement category, analysing market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost structures.  You'll collaborate closely with the Procurement Manager to align with the company's short, medium, and long-term goals.  Using your insights, you’ll develop and implement a tailored procurement strategy that drives value for the business.  Your focus will be on leading cross-functional initiatives that bring this strategy to life, always ensuring compliance with UK Procurement Procedures and supporting our broader business objectives.

You'll play a key role in assessing vendor performance, focusing on quality, quantity, timeliness, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility.  By working with internal stakeholders, you'll help build comprehensive vendor scorecards to communicate performance insights clearly to suppliers.  You'll lead efforts to improve supplier performance through regular reviews, collaborating closely with both suppliers and internal teams to set the right pace for these discussions.  Additionally, you'll develop and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring all parties stay aligned on expectations and performance standards.

You’ll champion the Procurement Procedures within the business, working closely with Central Category teams and the Global General Procurement team in Luxembourg.  Your role will involve preparing tenders, briefing, and negotiating with suppliers, and analysing quotes to make well-informed decisions.  You'll manage the entire supplier process, from contract and SLA agreements to overseeing project delivery, ensuring that products or services meet expectations and deadlines.

You'll oversee the setup and approval of suppliers, ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding process.  Your role will include managing purchase orders (POs) from initial request to maintenance, handling supplier claims, and supporting internal stakeholders with invoice hold issues.  You'll also collaborate with various teams to streamline PO management, minimising discrepancies and maintaining accurate order tracking.

Who we are looking for:

We're looking for someone with strong expertise in SAP and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.   Experience with SAP Ariba E-auction would also be a great asset in this role.

We're looking for candidates who have a solid understanding of procurement processes and experience in implementing purchasing systems.  You’ll be a master of the sourcing process, from scouting and negotiation to awarding contracts, with proven experience in managing supplier relationships.

Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as well as the ability to network and delegate effectively.  The ability to influence and navigate within a global business environment is a big plus.

Leadership and project management skills will be key in driving initiatives forward, along with a focus on both self and team development.

We're seeking someone who is results-driven, customer-oriented, and has sharp analytical thinking, backed by solid product and category knowledge.  We value innovation, quick decision-making, and a proactive approach to challenges.
