About the Role:

Do you want to bring joy to consumers’ lives through our high-quality, premium treats? We have an exciting opportunity for a Brand Manager fixed term contract in our Thorntons Non Boxed brand team.

In this role, you will work to achieve defined targets for the P&L, market share, and competitive positioning of Thorntons Seasonal. You will also lead an exciting new category expansion project and support the broader Licensing business, collaborating with senior stakeholders and third parties. Aligned with the Thorntons strategy, you will assist the Marketing Manager and Senior Brand Manager in defining positioning and strategies, developing and implementing initiatives, and overseeing projects. You will also monitor and manage costs to ensure they remain within budget constraints.

Main Responsibilities:

As Brand Manager for Non Boxed Thorntons, you will collaborate with the Senior Brand Manager and local teams to define brand targets, sales mix, net sales, gross margin, and marketing contributions. You will assist in establishing volumes and sales value budgets, ensuring all required details, such as SKUs and packaging, are included.

You will evaluate the brand's current and future positioning against competitors, reviewing historical price lists and recommending optimal product mixes to meet budgeted objectives. This includes proposing strategic SKUs and pricing strategies for approval by the Senior Brand Manager.

In addition, you will lead projects related to new product development (NPD), presenting strategies for approval, and sharing seasonal strategies and portfolio recommendations with the Senior Brand Manager. You will also support the Food Service Manager and third-party licensors in developing product portfolios and packaging while collaborating to provide performance updates to the Senior Brand Manager.

Your role will involve contributing to communication, advertising, and media planning by identifying target audiences and defining media mix strategies, including sponsorships. You will ensure advertising campaigns maximize their impact and adhere to legal requirements while protecting the company’s brand and reputation.

You will proactively participate in the proposal, implementation (e.g., briefs), and follow-up of strategic initiatives, such as exploratory studies on consumer habits, insights, and brand positioning. Additionally, you will support operational improvement projects, including pre- and post-test studies, packaging performance analysis, market data monitoring, and evaluating assortment and pricing strategies.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking an exceptional Brand Manager with a strong understanding of the UK market. You should have significant experience in brand management within the FMCG industry, including a proven track record in developing strategies, aligning key stakeholders, driving the brand agenda, managing projects, and delivering successful brand activations. Experience in product development and knowledge of packaging design are preferred but not mandatory.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a natural curiosity and a consumer-focused mindset, with a sharp eye for identifying emerging trends. You will possess proven experience in building effective relationships, leading and managing change, and fostering collaboration across departments to achieve financial targets and shared goals.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to broaden your expertise across various areas of brand marketing. It’s a chance to make a meaningful impact by contributing to the delivery of the brand’s long-term growth ambitions and strategic plans.
