International Graduate Program- Project Engineer

About the Role:

This is your chance to join us with a 3-Year Structured Graduate Program designed to develop talents across one or more European countries, for those seeking an international career in Operations.

PROGRAM ASSIGNMENTS

 

As part of our Graduate Program, you will have the opportunity to gain international and cross-functional experience through two structured assignments:

  1. First Assignment (1 year): You will take on the role of Project Engineer within the Engineering function in Germany.
  2. Second Assignment (2 years): You will then assume the role of Shift Maintenance Leader within the Industrial function in Germany.

This program is designed to accelerate your development, broaden your expertise, and prepare you for future challenging roles within Operations.

Main Responsibilities:

1st Assignment: Project Engineer

  • Provide design and process support for project management by defining specifications for design, process, and automation in compliance with international, local, and Ferrero standards.
  • Coordinate specialized resources and assist execution teams in implementing approved designs while monitoring timelines, costs, and risks.
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and preliminary project activities, ensuring alignment with proposals and supporting purchasing and maintenance functions.
  • Drive effective collaboration to achieve seamless project delivery within scope and quality requirements.
  • Ensure design activities align with Ferrero’s global standards while incorporating local feedback to refine company guidelines. Provide technical support to local teams, fostering consistency and operational excellence across all Ferrero assets worldwide.
  • Checking that every design step in a project matches the specifications, according to a V-Model Approach, for which each error or deviation from the specifications should be corrected as soon as possible, avoiding that its consequences propagate themselves in later project steps.
  • Support of the identification and collection of ideas for improvement (e.g. analysis of business ideas, production optimization, efficiency improvements etc.).
  • Cooperation with Technical Sourcing in the supplier management process, performing suppliers scouting, issuing requests for offer also management of relations with external suppliers.
  • Generation of costs estimations for the area of competence by costs monitoring.
  • Through specifications and design, support of the optimization and the efficiency of production activities and its sustainability
  • Development of a project team to look always to ergonomically labour conditions, safety, production efficiency and energy efficiency
  • Development of backup, restore and redundancy scenarios.

About You:

You will bring a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field connected to food manufacturing. A Master’s degree (MSc) will be considered a strong asset, with an excellent academic record.
As a great communicator, fluency in English and a willingness to learn the local language will be essential to cover this position, combined with your proficiency in MS Office tools.
