Quality Supervisor / Specialist

About the Role:

The Quality Supervisor / Specialist guarantees that the production unit operates in the respect of quality standards determined by Ferrero Quality Department and respecting product features determined by Corporate Quality Specifications. Generates ideas for a continuous improvement and implement related actions. Contributes to employees’ training in order to assure the achievement of quality objectives. Verifies that the production auto-control works properly and operates promptly to resolve possible issues. Manages finished product release. Controls that outsourced activities are performed in accordance to quality standards required by the production unit.

Main Responsibilities:

QUALITY CONTROL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PRODUCTION LINE
• Applies the unique product quality requirements using the corporate information system (Portal - SAP- IPC - Fenice)
• Issues, distributes and keeps updated and available to the perators and to any involved person, the require auto-control quality instructions and related forms, in relation to the production lines under competence.
• Support the FS pillar in the risk analysis evaluation and HACCP plan implementation and traceability of the finished product.
• Responsible for Product Release
• Provides to Third Parties Manufacturers, adequate - updated instructions and quality control forms

 

 PRODUCTION QUALITY AND FOOD SAFETY
• Regularly supervises activities performed by operators on the production line,
• Re-performs, under its own discretion, samples’ controls, performing, at least on a weekly basis, a full control activity, by re-performing all quality controls
• Promptly provides support to the production department, in case of anomalies identified along the process or in case of quality issues (high flaw rate, production stops, etc.)
• Ensure the execution of controls and /or extraordinary sampling on finished goods with reference to specific issues.
• Supports the production department for all quality matters related to the production process
• Cooperates with Technical Production department to pursue an ongoing quality improvement
• Controls availability and conformity of recorded statements reported in the weekly/monthly quality reports (related to the previous day and elaborated by the production department) (
• Records outcome from its own activity, by using the same systems used by operators, e.g. Fenice, or by using ad hoc forms
• In case of issues or anomalies, cooperate along with the PQM responsible, to determine and implementing corrective actions to avoid that the same issues continue to appear
• Ensure that those conditions are constantly guaranteed with all necessary point of controls (managed by production)
• Periodically verifies the efficiency and effectiveness of the system and of the HACCP of competence
• Ensure results are recorded in company reports and forms (control quality forms, Excel - Fenice data entry, etc.).
• Manages the investigation on critical plant related consumer complaints and reporting Corporate systems

Responsibilities

NON-CONFORMING PRODUCT
• Promptly provides support to the production department, in case of anomalies identified along the process or in case of quality issues, lab. Analysis (high flaw rate, production stops, etc.).
• In case of issues or anomalies, cooperate along with the PQM responsible, to determine and implementing corrective actions to avoid that the same issues continue to appear.
• Keeps the product on hold for quality reasons
• Manages the possible non-conformities
• Manages the root cause analysis for NC and consumer complaints

 

TRAINING FOR EMPLOYEES
• Plans, organizes, provides and assess results for training toemployees and in outsourcing, in terms of quality control, to be Responsible for execution on the production lines.
• Supports operators to verify that the auto-control activities are put in place correctly.
• Handle traceability of training provided.
• Provides all the necessary trainings in respect of GMP


TASTING AND SENSORIAL ANALYSIS
• Guarantees tasting activities along the production line, for product under competence (taster’s list, reporting, training)


HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
• Management of Quality Assistants to ensure all production quality activities are performed
• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Quality Assistants.
• Ensure that all Quality Assistants are trained on related procedures and operate in compliance with the work instructions and operative procedures
• Organize work hours, vacation requests and performance evaluation for Quality Assistants


 ENVIRONMENTAL & ENERGY
• To assist in the implementation of and conformance to the Environmental & Energy Management Systems within key process areas.

Who we are looking for:

EDUCATION
B.Sc Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemestry or other related field

 

EXPERIENCE
Minimum 4 years Quality Supervisor experience in a plant in a food industry
Knowledge and experience in Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving Techniques


SPECIFIC KNOWLEGE
• Knowledge of Product/Process Quality specifications, OPRP, CCP’s
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, manufacturing process and quality control
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000
• Internal auditing experience is an asset
• Ability to conduct presentations and training sessions
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
• Strong communication skills in a multi-cultural environment
