About the Role:

•    The Incoming Material Specialist is a key functional position in Ferrero Quality and Food Safety Organization responsible for managing quality control of incoming materials and ingredients.  
•    The individual in this role will be responsible for coordinating quality controls on incoming packaging, semi-finished and raw materials, in accordance with group guidelines, reporting directly to the Incoming and Lab Supervisor. 
•    Assuring the availability of the raw, semifinished, and packaging materials for the whole plant.
•    Ensuring compliance with all programs and continuous improvement involving the incoming material processes.
•    Responsible for Food safety management system for the internal warehouse.
•    Responsible for management of all non-conformities - Food safety or quality in the warehouse, production or 3rd party warehouses related to incoming materials.
•    Responsible for NC management for the incoming deviations and suppliers’ audits; Collaborate with internal involved stakeholders and external providers in the application of preventive / corrective action to solve the NC; Escalate the major/critical NC.
•    Responsible for assuring the Ferrero Quality system is implemented in the external warehouses and responsible to manage the audit program. 
•    Responsible for the management of hold and release program for the raw, semi-finished and packaging materials.
•    Management of any projects related to incoming or receiving processes.

Main Responsibilities:

•    Ensure execution of sampling based on criteria defined in the FQD material specification sheets and related to the classification of the suppliers (frequency). 
•    Coordinate the execution of the Internal and external sampling based on SAP sampling plans, according to sampling methods and safety prevention regulations.
•    Management of the disposition of the materials record’s good movements on SAP (e.g., stock for quality controls / locked stocks / stock on behalf of third parties). Assure the availability for the production schedule.
•    Management of non-conformities in incoming, semi-finished or in production related to materials according to Ferrero procedures.
•    Ensure that all incoming materials are inspected and stored in the opportune condition, according to the group and local procedures. 
•    Monitor quality analyst activities effectiveness; ensure the coverage of the sampling and inspection activities in coordination with supervisor. 
•    Ensure release of incoming materials after quality testing as per minimum requirements. 
•    Collaborate with central team to define KPI and report the required information to allow the Vendor Rating.
•    Together with the Lab Supervisor, making final decisions on the disposition of the non-conforming materials depending upon the level of severity.
•    Communication of non-conforming deliveries to the internal and external parties involved.
•    Participation during audits and management of corrective/preventive action implementation.
•    Provide information requested by central departments (FQD etc.).
•    Support all warehouses (internal and external) in case of non-conformities.
•    Support with development of quality solutions according to group guidelines for warehousing and transportation.
•    Responsible for the audit program for the external warehouses and follow up for the action plan and closure.
•    Ensure all program requirements/standards regarding quality and food safety are implemented, practiced and maintained. 

Who we are looking for:

•    B.S. Degree in microbiology, Food Science or closely related field.  
•    Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, FSMA and HAACP strongly preferred.
•    Knowledge of raw materials and packaging materials used in the food industry such as mono or multi-layer films, paper, cardboards.
•    Knowledge of instruments and methodology for quality inspection for incoming materials (raw materials, packaging and semi-finished products).
•    Knowledge of statistical checks and sampling methods.
•    Excellent organizational skills.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills.
•    Knowledge of Ferrero’s products and Quality and Food safety standards.
•    Ability to conduct presentations and training sessions.
•    Strong communication skills in a multi-cultural environment.
•    Proficient in MS office suite applications and SAP.
•    Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment

 

Compensation Data

The base salary range for this position is $58.000 - $70,000 annually.  Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
