About the Role:
The Maintenance Supervisor is the primary point of contact for emergency work. This position is on our night shift, Sunday through Thursday. This is a salaried, exempt position. Activities include but are not limited to leading the maintenance team, ensuring compliance with all OSHA and safety programs. Ensuring strict compliance with GMP and food safety procedures and policies. Controlling quality, cost, duration, and thoroughness of maintenance work. Training and motivating maintenance technicians. Making tactical decisions to stay on the maintenance schedule. Coordinating maintenance activities including planned and reactive maintenance along with the maintenance planner.
This role is supporting Night Shift.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the maintenance team on the floor and monitor maintenance work execution and provide technical assistance as needed.
- Ensure all OSHA, NFPA70E, and personnel safety programs are followed including SPA (JHA/JSA), LOTO, working at heights, line break, hot work, confined space, etc.
- Enforce GMP and food safety requirements in the plant
- Support refrigeration and facilities technicians
- Ensure all maintenance work is documented in the CMMS (SAP)
- Assist the maintenance planner in job task creation and optimization
- Ensure planned (PM, repairs, projects, etc.) work is completed according to the maintenance schedule
- Assist and advise maintenance planner on maintenance schedule creation and execution
- Ensure materials are available for each job and spares usage is properly documented in the CMMS (SAP)
- Perform and assist with audits and inspections as needed
- Track and report on maintenance KPIs related to schedule compliance and labor utilization
- Schedule maintenance technicians and manage overtime.
- Responsible for managing your direct reports timecards in UKG, including attendance, timecard accuracy and weekly payroll approvals
- Interface with the dayshift maintenance supervisor, planner, scheduler, tech stores supervisor, and maintenance manager
- Collaborates with operations leadership, quality, and line leads to support the operational schedule while ensuing quality requirements are met
- Enters purchase requisitions for non-stock parts and supplies as needed to support repairs and maintenance, obtain quotes and estimates as required.
- Manage contractors performing maintenance and repairs in the facility
- Develop and execute maintenance and facility projects as directed
- Participate in RCA process, FMEA, and other reliability initiatives
Who we are looking for:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role in a Production or Manufacturing environment.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance;
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing maintenance issues.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and the ability to champion a culture of safety among the maintenance team.
- Effective organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work during off-hours or on-call as needed for emergency repairs or maintenance activities.
- Experience in ammonia refrigeration and steam generationSAP experienceExperience working in a food manufacturing environment
