Plant Logistics Manager
About the Role:
We have a current opening for a Plant Logistics Manager in our Florence, KY manufacturing facility.
This role is responsible for leading warehouse and logistics operations to ensure the efficient flow of raw materials, packaging, semi-finished, and finished products required to support production. Key responsibilities include managing internal and external warehouses, overseeing inbound and outbound transportation, and directing inventory and product management within 3PL facilities. The position leads warehouse and logistics teams, including all internal production-support logistics activities such as palletizing and forklift operations, while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety, and food safety standards. Additionally, the role monitors operational performance through KPI reporting, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and serves as the logistics lead for expansion and capital projects to support business growth and operational excellence.
Main Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Logistics Operations
- Lead the operations of internal and external warehouses to ensure the timely availability of packaging, raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished goods required to support the production schedule.
- Manage all industrial warehouses, as well as primary inbound and outbound transportation activities, ensuring optimal cost, quality, service, and performance.
- Oversee product storage and inventory management across third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse operations.
- Ensure warehouse inventory meets required specifications, quantity targets, and volume levels.
Transportation & Workforce Management
- Coordinate transportation operations and warehouse activities to maximize efficiency and service levels.
- Lead and support the Warehouse and Logistics team members, through guiding, develolpment and mentoring.
- Lead all internal logistics activities supporting production, including palletizing operations, forklift movements, and material flow processes.
Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Promote and enforce all company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Drive safety and food safety initiatives within warehouse operations to ensure compliance with company and group standards.
- Monitor and report operational performance through GOS KPI reporting and performance management processes.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across logistics and warehouse operations.
Strategic Projects
- Serve as the Logistics Stream Leader for expansion and capital projects, ensuring all logistics requirements are effectively planned and executed to support business growth.
About You:
- 8+ years of Supply Chain experience, including Operational Excellence, Transformation, Continuous Improvement, or Sustainability initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of service level requirements across Production, Industrial, and Commercial organizations
- Knowledge of product handling requirements to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant material movement.
- Experience with warehouse operations and material handling equipment supporting inbound production materials and outbound finished goods.
- Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory management processes.
- Proven ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of supply chain planning processes, logistics operations, and key cost drivers.
- Knowledge of domestic and international transportation markets, including road, sea, and air freight.
- Experience managing carrier relationships and transportation service providers.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, reporting, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to develop and deliver impactful PowerPoint presentations to various stakeholder groups.
- Working knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
