Trade Marketing Manager - Cookies, Cones & Crusts

As the Trade Marketing Manager, Cookies, Cones, and Crusts, you will bring brand strategy to life at retail by owning the in‑store execution plan. You’ll develop and cascade the Go‑to‑Market strategy, setting clear execution standards across distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing (DSMP) to drive strong performance in market.
You’ll own the in‑store activity calendar for your assigned brands/segments and be accountable for DSMP excellence and key financial KPI attainment. Working closely with Category Management, Marketing, Sales Operations, Demand Planning, and Sales Account teams, you’ll provide thought leadership and ensure plans are aligned, executable, and impactful at retail.
This role is Hybrid and will be based in Chicago, IL and reports to the Director of Trade Marketing – Cookies, Cones, and Crusts.
Main Responsibilities:
- Partner to develop the Go to Market plan including execution standards for distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing (DSMP).
- Developing sales supporting tools (e.g. seasonal and everyday display catalogues)
- With Marketing, propose the Budget (volume and revenue) of the assigned brands
- Support the planning and execution of both the seasonal and everyday portfolio
- Develop trade and consumer unit pack/price architecture framework to deliver strategic channel and customer opportunities
- Monitor competitive activity to ensure external factors are incorporated into business plans
- Create the KPI objectives aligned by Class of Trade trends and strategy
- Work with cross-functional team to manage commercialization of new displays
- Develop the in-store activity strategy to execute the brand strategy at retail
- Develop the in-store activity calendar by session / channel
- Responsible for defining the in-store execution objectives to be tracked for execution
- Responsible (with Marketing) for the development and execution in-store activations and POS
- Responsible for the development, implementation and management of display tools and formats
- Develop the Trade Investment strategy for the brand aligned to customer and brand strategy
- Partner with customer teams and Marketing to develop actionable plans to drive accelerated growth or improve profitability
- Ensure proper lead time and content for best in class innovation launches, meeting customer lead times
- Work with Marketing, Sales, Trade Business Intelligence, Finance, and Revenue Management to optimize Trade Spend Effectiveness by reviewing post promotional assessments and Return of Investment for trade spend lines
- Align with shopper Marketing on the shopper marketing plans and eCommerce investment
- Provides input to the S&OP process on changes in distribution, promotion, and customer/channel strategy
- Supporting delivery of effective Joint Business Plans
- Ensure clear lines of communication between Trade Marketing, Brand Marketing and Customer Teams
About You:
- 5-7 years relevant experience required, CPG Foods experience is preferred with Customer Management and/or Marketing experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a business/marketing discipline required; MBA preferred
- Multi-channel CPG experience including: C-store, Mass, Grocery, Dollar, e-Comm, and Club
- Strong communication skills with an ability to outline and reinforce the Trade Mktg. & DSMP strategy
- Strong decision making and interpersonal skills with an ability to influence at the most Senior levels
- Commercially astute with strong business sense and excellent problem solving / analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including the knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Access

The base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $132,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
