About the Role:

You have always loved it, now be part of it! Ferrero's Chicago 110th Street Plant, where we proudly manufacture Keebler Cones and Pie Crusts, is looking for our next Operations Supervisor. 

As the Operations Supervisor, you will direct, administer and coordinate Production activities ensuring a clean and safe environment for all employees, the highest level of quality for our consumers, and optimizing operating costs for our Company for the highest level of efficiency. In this role you'll also be providing leadership and facilitation skills to plan and improve production practices, processes and methods.  As a leader in the Plant, you will also proactively support all Company objectives.

This position is on 3rd Shift - 10:30pm - 7:30am, Monday - Friday and some Saturdays

This role reports to the Operations Manager

Main Responsibilities:

• Manages Production operations for a given line, area and/or shift.  Directs efforts of mixing, baking, forming, and packaging personnel to achieve goals in Safety, Quality, and Productivity/Costs.
• Develops direct reports through positive performance management techniques to ensure an acceptable level of competence is achieved.  
• Participates in the timely resolution of product quality issues.
• Prepares various reports monitoring various aspects of the business, such as: equipment efficiency, labor utilization and waste.
• Represents business unit by assisting with all aspects of new product development, production trials, test sampling and production test runs of new materials and finished product.
• Supports and implements process/systems improvements to drive lowest cost, highest quality and on-time delivery initiatives.
• Participates on Cross-functional Improvement Teams.

Who we are looking for:

• Undergraduate degree in Food Technology, Engineering, Business or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of directly related Food, Pharmaceutical, or other Consumer Goods manufacturing supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a Unionized environment strongly preferred.
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing concepts and practices and procedures.  
• Ability to handle complex tasks and multiple priorities and give experienced guidance to others.
• Exceptional leadership, decision making, planning, organizing, problem solving, and communication and team facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of consumer goods manufacturing techniques/methods, such as, but not limited to, HACCP, GMP’s, SPC and JIT.  Food Industry, Pharmaceutical Industry or other Consumer Goods Industry experience is preferred.
• Computer literacy (MS Office, including Excel, Word, PPT), attention to detail, quick decision-making ability and a high service orientation.
• Bilingual abilities are preferred.
