As the National Account Manager, Convenience Midwest you will be supporting Core-Mark and be responsible for managing customer relationships and driving a sales plan for Core-Mark, driving the delivery of sales and profit growth of existing and new Ferrero products. In this role, you will be a primary contact to manage the business relationship with the Merchandising and Procurement teams at Core-Mark.
This role will report to the Director of Convenience stores and ideally be based in Texas, Illinois, or NY Metro.
Main Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end sales and category strategy, execution and integration with broker support
- Meet Core-Mark category revenue, volume, growth, profit and share targets
- Meet Core-Mark Independent c-store distribution, shelving, pricing and merchandising goals
- Provide input during annual contract process
- Support execution against strategic initiatives and commitments at Core-Mark
- Own relationship with Core-Mark category buyer and execute formalized, value-added engagement plan with established feedback loop to act on customer input
- Leverage data sources, including Circana and MSA, find insights, develop selling story and share with Core-Mark and our broker partners to drive growth
- Work collaboratively to develop innovative and insightful content to drive category growth
- Develop impactful selling strategy through all customer touchpoints, including annual planning, HQ based programs, Trade shows, OpCos, retail, etc.
- Use trade judiciously to drive demand at Core-Mark
- Identify medium and long-term business opportunities at Core-Mark in category and flag to Director
- Develop accurate SKU-level forecasts each month based on expected demand, seasons, and promotions
- Provide monthly and year-out forecasts to Replenishment Analyst
- Own forecast accuracy for Core-Mark with feedback loop when forecasts not correct
- Develop and execute promotions in all categories and conduct post-promotional analysis (ROI)
Who we are looking for:
- At least 4 years of Sales, Account Management, Merchandising, and/or Category Management experience is required
- Bachelor’s Degree is required, M.B.A is preferred
- Prior Convenience Store, Core-Mark and/or distributor Experience is preferred
- Interpersonal skills to interface effectively with the necessary internal and external stakeholders
- Strategic and proactive thinking to develop sales strategies and translate them into distribution, shelving, pricing and merchandising objectives
- Strong data analysis skills to monitor Core-Mark’s performance in category and develop strategies to close gaps, increase sales, etc.
- Strong Power Point skills, including building effective presentations and storytelling
- Strong Excel skills, ability to sort and filter data and draw insights to support growth
- Ability to turn data into insights and actions, leveraging Circana and MSA
- Ability to travel roughly 25%
- Presentation Management competencies to effectively present key insights in front of internal and external stakeholders
