About the Role:

As Channel&Category Development Specialist you will be part of  Trade Marketing/Business Development department and the scope of the position is to support the business development of a group of clients, in short medium time perspective. The role is a bridge position, interfacing firstly with Sales Team in charge of clients and as well with Marketing. The key challenge of the position is firstly client driven, to ensure the development of a full understanding of the clients, identify potential and prepare argumentation. It is as well to translate the clients strategy and shopper need toward marketing in order to incorporate in the brand strategies.

Main Responsibilities:

 

Company Plan Development

 

  • Contribute to the preparation of the Company Plan that incorporates the shopper perspective together with consumer one;
  • Support/challenge Marketing  to incorporate  the  shopper/channel/client perspective in the elaboration of the categories plan;
  • Interact and support the Key Account team in setting the client strategy, building a fact based understanding of potential and quantify them. Focus to define right assortment/share presence (fair share)/activities/exclusive product;
  • Contribute to build a channel strategy with particular focus on assortment/activities that fit with the channel peculiarities;

 

Company Commercial Calendar

 

  • Ensure the respect of the Commercial Deadlines;
  • Trade Marketing has the ownership of the Company Commercial Calendar with regards of the clients in charge and has the duty to ensure the full respect of the business deadlines;
  • Channel&Category Development Specialist has the duty to interact with any department to make sure that the deadlines are respected and escalate any issue foreseen;

 

Client Management

 

  • Fully support the client business development in the frame of the commercial policy;
  • Yearly negotiation - support the preparation of the argumentation;
  • Quarterly Meeting - suppport the preparation with  market analysis - argumentation for activities, presentation of extra opportunities, fair shelf share, international best practise, scenario simulation, marginality, shelf/check out positioning;
  • Commercial policy tracking - provide costant monitoring of any elements of the commercial policy of each client. From targets development to activity implementation tracking;
  • Client performance - using all the source availble build a deeper understanding of the client performance;
  • Ad hoc analysis -  identify extra opportunties by continuous analysis of data (Nielsen/Gfk/field report);
  • Product launches -  ensure the proper preparation lauch process;
  • Exclusive project management -  identify the project fitting the best with clients shoppers, develop argumentation and track performance;
  • Ferrero & customer profitability  -  track performance;

 

Merchandiser Standard/Fair shelf share/POS

 

  • Develop recommendation regarding new product launches to define in store placement on shelf, check out and secondary placement;
  • Develop recommendation to reach fair share in shelf and correct placement of Ferrero brands, based on share of shelf survey;
  • Identify POS material needs;

 

Shopper Insights Development - Analysis

 

  • Analizes competitive scenarios and category performance;
  • Improves Shopper behaviour knowledge and explore for further shopper insight;
  • Designs and implements category projects with main customer with the support of Key Account Managers to share during Quarterly presentation with the client;

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Economics or related field;
  • Microsoft Office Tools;
  • Analytical skills in order to exploit at best internal data but also external one (Nilesen, Gfk, Euromonitor, media);
  • Minimum 4 years of proven experience in Business Intelligence/Trade Marketing department;
  • Good command of English;
  • SAP Knowledge - is an advantage;
