MANDATORY 5 CRITERIA FOR THE VIE PROGRAM:

  1. Age: You’re eligible if you are at least 18 years old and under 28 at the time of your application. In all cases, your departure must take place before your 29th birthday.
  2. Nationality: Although the program is “made in France,” the V.I.E is not limited to French nationals. Good news: all young people who hold the nationality of a country within the European Economic Area (EEA) can apply! Reminder: the EEA includes EU countries as well as Monaco, Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Norway.
  3. National Service:
    • If you are of French nationality or hold dual nationality including French, you must be in compliance with national service obligations.
    •  For French citizens under 25, this means providing your defense identification number, which confirms you have been registered and have participated in the “Journée Défense et Citoyenneté” (Defense and Citizenship Day).
    • If you are over 25, you do not need to provide this number.
    • If you are a citizen of an EEA country, you must be in good standing with the national service obligations of your country of origin.
  4. Criminal Record: To be eligible for the V.I.E program, your criminal record (bulletin no. 2) must not contain any entries that are incompatible with the mission.
  5. Medical Fitness: You must be declared medically fit to carry out the mission. A medical certificate will be required to confirm this.

Important: If you have already completed a V.I.E or V.I.A mission, you cannot apply again.
