Sustainability Specialist

About the Role:

The Ferrero Group is looking for a Sustainability Specialist to join our Group Public Policy Center (GPPC) in Brussels, focusing on sustainability. The GPPC is part of the Ferrero Group's Institutional Affairs and Corporate Communications department. You will focus your activities on the field of sustainable development and contribute to monitoring and gathering relevant information, developing Group positions and representing the Group's interests externally (e.g. at trade association meetings). 

For this position, you must be self-motivated, proactive and able to work on your own initiative. You will report directly to Ferrero's Global Public Policy Manager for Sustainability. 

Main Responsibilities:

As a Sustainability Specialist, you will contribute to monitoring global sustainability policy and legislative developments, coordinating and guiding global positions on sustainability policy topics, and engaging with relevant internal and external stakeholders through the preparation of policy and positioning briefs. You will also support the EU Public Affairs team by analysing key EU sustainability legislative proposals, providing the latest company positions, and representing Ferrero at relevant EU trade association meetings, while coordinating and guiding sustainability engagement with customers, including managing and analysing customer requests. In addition, as a member of the GPPC team, you will support wider team activities and projects, including administrative and operational support for events.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate with a university degree in law or political science, having a solid background in sustainability regulation and prior experience in the food industry and at minimum 3 years of experience on this field.

You have a passion for sustainability and are comfortable reading and analyzing technical legislation. 

The position requires a wide range of skills from data/information acquisition and analysis to the delivery of relevant messages to internal and external stakeholders. Interpretation of relevant regulations and policy developments, and understanding of the main impact for the Ferrero Group are paramount. 

Prior project management experience is appreciated, as coordination skills, working precisely and in an organized manner is crucial for this role. Effective communication skills allow you to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, from policy makers to internal subject matter experts. You are self-driven and motivated with strong interpersonal skills and a real team spirit. 

Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential. 

Excellent command of English, both oral and written, is a must. Fluency in Italian and/or another EU language would be an additional asset.
