About the Role:
As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing relationships with the central entities of assigned clients within the designated channel.
Main Responsibilities:
Your role involves negotiating and finalizing contracts, driving sales growth, and supporting the Channel Manager in defining sales strategies, including setting targets, developing commercial initiatives, and implementing promotional policies.
In terms of budget management, you will work closely with the Channel Manager to ensure alignment between budget allocation and business objectives. You will propose sales volume budgets, forecast sales for assigned clients, manage contractual agreements, and monitor spending to comply with financial guidelines.
Maintaining strong customer relationships is key, as you will ensure a high level of trade contact to deepen market knowledge while aligning internally and externally on sales activities and plans. Your role also involves sales performance tracking, ensuring the correct application of promotions, and monitoring costs versus budget. You will use forecasting and planning tools to oversee sales activities and collaborate with Trade Marketing to analyze customer performance, including sell-in and sell-out data.
Additionally, you will develop sales arguments and presentations, negotiate and present contracts, identify new opportunities, and ensure promotional plans align with marketing guidelines. As part of customer management, you will communicate customer channel strategies, develop account plans with Trade Marketing, and proactively provide solutions to challenges such as promotions or delivery issues.
Who we are looking for:
The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Economics or Marketing and has 3-6 years of experience in Sales or Trade Marketing, with a successful track record in Key Account Management or Trade Marketing within FMCG.
A strong understanding of the Dutch retail market is essential, along with proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
We are looking for someone with strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, who can work autonomously in managing customer relationships. Additionally, proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP is required. Fluency in Dutch and English is mandatory for this role.
