About the Role:
Starting from $32.52/hr
Shift Premiums for 12hr shifts:
Scheduled Weekend Shift Premium: +$4.00 per hour
Night Shift Premium: +$1.65 per hour
Shift Schedules: 2 week continental shift rotation: 5:45am - 6pm / 5:45pm - 6am

This position will report to the Quality Specialist to ensure integrity and the highest level of quality for all Ferrero products. The Quality Product Specialist will be responsible for the inspection of both work in process and finished products.
• Follow production activities to ensure compliance of the food safety and quality standards of the products
• Complete and communicate in a timely manner risk assessments related to food safety and quality non-conformities in collaboration with the production and maintenance teams as necessary
• Manage operationally the physical and systematic (SAP) activities related to nonconforming product holds and releases
• Log any nonconformities in SAP as necessary
• Participation in SIM2 meetings, RCA’s and Kaizens in order to support the continuous improvement processes within the plant
• Provide inspection guidelines to the production team based on statistical analysis; coordinates product rework and compiles inspection results
• Monitor quality reports from the day through SAP and take appropriate action related to SAP rejections according to the risk assessment
• Collect and keep retain samples from the lines in the archive.
• Train personnel from the production units responsible for quality check of the product (self-control) and on other relevant food safety and quality requirements (in-line taste testing, sanitation work instructions, CCP, oPRP checks)
• Work closely with the self-control personnel from the production units on the daily basis to guarantee the compliance of the quality checks made – including standards levels and allowances
• Work with the Quality Specialists to evaluate and take actions on products with any deviation of quality standard
• Uses relevant information, scientific data, previous experiences and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with company standards, laws, or regulations.
• In case of issues or anomalies, works with the production team, Quality Specialist and other supporting departments to determine and implement corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence
• Compile and analyze data as necessary using Excel and PowerPoint
• Collaborate with various stakeholders in the plant including production, maintenance and warehouse
• Perform validation, monitoring and verification activities as requires to support the food safety and quality systems
• Review and sign daily oPRP and CCP records to ensure information accuracy and completeness
• Perform swabbing of production line equipment after cleaning and sanitation for validation, verification or monitoring purposes
• Able to manage multiple tasks of varying priorities at the same time
Main Responsibilities:
DOCUMENTING/RECORDING INFORMATION
• Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form.
• Fill all reports from food safety and quality inspections or others included in the quality activities
• Provide correct information pertaining to food safety and quality to all relevant departments
• Supports with the creation and distribution of food safety and quality related documentation (e.g., auto-control instructions and related forms, cleaning and sanitation, oPRP, CCP, etc.).
• Provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
• Plans, organizes, provides and assess results for food safety and quality related training such as for auto-control employees and for outsourcers, CCP, oPRP monitoring, etc. to be executed on production lines.
• Supports operators to verify that the auto-control activities are put in place correctly.
• Handle and archives appropriately the records of the training provided to the production team.
• Inspect and audit process and products to verify compliance within standards
QUALITY AND FOOD SAFETY
Ensure all program requirements/standards (ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, HACCP) regarding quality and food safety are implemented, practiced and maintained.
ENVIRONMENTAL
To assist in the implementation of and conformance to the Environmental Management System within key process areas (ISO 14001 & ISO50001).
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
• Support all players in the continuous improvement processes under an economical point of view
• Follow up on corrective and preventative actions
• Participate in daily meetings for short interval management of day-to-day issues.
Who we are looking for:
QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree or diploma in Science related field
• Experience in Quality Assurance
• Food manufacturing experience an asset
• Knowledge of HACCP
• Knowledge in SAP an asset
• Experience with computer systems/Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work overtime to support production requirements
• PCQI certification would be an asset
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, food safety and quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods;
• Conducting tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance;
• Understanding of gauges, dials, or other indicators to understand quality problems on machines;
• Using mathematics and statistical analysis to work with numbers and analyze results;
• Understanding of industry related documents
