About the Role:

Ferrero Brantford, where we proudly produce Nutella®, Tic Tac®, Nutella&Go® and Ferrero Rocher® is looking for current students, who are eager to start exploring a career in the thriving food manufacturing sector to join as a Project Engineering Intern for the January - August 2025 term.
 
Central to Ferrero’s global success has been the deeply rooted culture of “learning by doing”. At Ferrero’s largest manufacturing center in North America, you’ll see firsthand a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and provide hands-on support to our Project Managers and Project Engineers. You will:

 

  • Shadow daily activities and see what it takes to execute major investment projects from conception to design, execution and commissioning/start up
  • Provided the opportunity to make impactful contributions to groundbreaking projects

Being curious, collaborative, self-motivated, quick to deliver and having a strong interest in developing a career in Food Manufacturing are critical characteristics for the right candidate. Excellent project management skills, proficiency with Excel, AutoCAD and MS Project will be major assets. 

 

This position is 100% on-site. This is a PAID 8-month Internship up to $29/hr.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop drawings/sketches (AutoCAD 2D-3D) and technical specs as part of feasibility studies
  • Prepare tender packages and participate in the tender phase for the selection of external suppliers
  • Check contractor's activities (engineering companies, machines providers, general contractors)
  • Monitor project costs and time schedule
  • Resolve manufacturing issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensure manufacturing adherence to standard practices and create or modify procedures where required
  • Improve and standardize existing processes through innovation and collaboration
  • Demonstrate leadership in the development and implementation of projects
  • Develop template and tools for project portfolio management
  • Technical purchasing, documentation management using SAP
     

Who we are looking for:

  • Currently enrolled in 3rd year, or higher, in a post-secondary degree program; or a recent graduate with an Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical/Automation, Chemical Engineering or other engineering background
  • Familiarity with Project Management, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, MS Project, AutoCAD 
  • Prior exposure or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment will be considered an asset
  • Ability to work in a team and prioritize work effectively
  • Analytical problem solvers with excellent computer skills
  • Proactive, takes initiative and curious
  • A strong drive to research and uncover solutions
