Maintenance Manager
Location: Bloomington, IL
About the Role:
Manage the activities of the maintenance department under the direction of the Plant Manager including the supervision of external Maintenance contractors support (in relation to aspects of technology and intervention).
Responsible for ensuring Production Unit output, standards of quality, quantity, time management are met, provide technological assistance where necessary. Oversee the routine and preventative maintenance activities on machinery, production installations and tools.
Participate in joint planning activities for new installations and existing machinery and monitor the completion of new investment implementation collaborating with Engineering Manager.
Responsible for management of Maintenance budget. Responsible for strategy for professional maintenance.
Enforce and promote all company guidelines, policies and good manufacturing practices pertaining to all facets of the business, not limited to and including food safety and health & safety & supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Main Responsibilities:
· Ensure the management of the maintenance budget along all the phases (proposal preparation and discussion, actual vs budget analysis, update)
· Work within established budget parameters and monitoring variances
· Ensure production equipment is in top working order to guarantee the production schedule is carried out within the established timelines, efficiency parameters, and quality standards
· Ensure the establishment of a preventative maintenance program for production facilities and manufacturing/packaging lines
· Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all production lines/machinery;
· Ensure periodic reviews are conducted, coordinating services with internal personnel and external companies
· Ensure the effectiveness of corrective maintenance intervention
· Ensure the management of spare parts storeroom as per GROS-GS020
· Ensure the correct disposal of obsolete or damaged equipment and spare parts;
· Guarantee the required legal inspections of measuring instruments and tools according to requirements;
· Analyze the main KPI’s to improve them in term of cost and service level
· Collaborate with the Purchasing department in expediting deliveries and handling possible disputes with suppliers
· Ensure the execution of planned initiatives promoted by the Plant Manager relating to new construction, changes in production lines for new formats, new production lines (in collaboration with Engineering Manager and Group’s Stakeholders)
· Collaborate in the preparation of the documentation relating to the project/capital investment and channel it through the authorization process
· Prepare the cost estimate for the order in conjunction with Engineering Manager and Group’s Stakeholders and with the Technical Controlling and Purchasing Departments
· Coordinate the internal and external personnel assigned to complete the investment (construction, utilities, software, electrical equipment, machine parts, etc.)
· Collaborate with Engineering Manager to ensure that the investment is completed in accordance with preliminary specifications in terms of quality, time and associated costs
· Ensure that all interventions are carried out with the necessary measures to ensure conditions of work which meet individual and environmental Health & Safety compliance
· Coordinate with H&S to investigate accidents and injuries, and prepare reports of findings
· Ensure practices relating to environmental compliance are followed;
· Ensure proper recycling of scrap, disposal of scrap (metals and machinery)
· Coordinate the activities of the RMS, RDM and RMT and ensure the execution of the maintenance programs
· Carry out the timely recalibration of the production process for the purpose of optimizing overall results
· Develop and ensure a personnel management system based on identification of the Group’s values, motivation, and development of competence for all related positions in order to maximize results and business competitiveness within the department
· Ensure all program requirements/standards regarding quality and food safety are implemented, practiced and maintained
· To assist in the implementation of the Environmental Management System within key process areas
About You:
· Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Industrial Management or similar field.
· Experience 8 – 11 years
· Knowledge of product technology, process and food sector;
· Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance;
· Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources,
· Knowledge of H&S, budget control, project management, Food Safety requirements, Environmental
· Knowledge of Facilities and Utilities
Compensation Data
The base salary range for this position is $123,000 - $155,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
