Payroll Specialist
About the Role:
We have a current opening for a Payroll Specialist and are actively reviewing applications.
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing payroll for both hourly and salary employees, maintaining payroll reports and records and addressing employee inquires on payroll- related matters working with and through the human resources group for the Augusta, GA and Florence, KY locations.
Main Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing
· Ensure accurate and timely processing and recording of time and pay for multi-state payroll which includes 700+ employees in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines
· Responsible for data completeness in the timekeeping system and for data being properly interfaced into the payroll system
· Compile, balance, and ensure compliance requirements are met for additional earnings submissions, time corrections, and rate overrides submitted from multiple locations and validate results in the payroll system
· Review payroll reports to confirm data is balanced with timekeeping and department/base submission reports to ensure accuracy and identify any out-of- balance conditions needing correction
· Process unemployment claims through a third party vendor
· Provide support for external and internal audits related to pay items
· Support payroll projects, process improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned
Employee Relations
· Understand and apply company policy, corporate agreements, and
state/government regulations effecting payroll procedures
· Facilitate strong customer service relationships with external/internal personnel
and peers
· Answer employee questions, investigate and correct discrepancies related to
payroll
· Research, analyze, and interpret multiple sources of payroll data to provide
resolution for payroll inquiries from HR, Finance, and Business Managers error
troubleshooting, and compliance testing
· Maintain accurate assignments and PTO accruals for new hire, transfer, and LOA
employees
· Process employment verification of income for employees as approved
Training and Development
· Train supervisors on payroll procedures and process
· Partner with HRBP’s for employee record changes impacting payroll
Quality and Food Safety
· Ensure all program requirements/standards regarding quality and food safety are
implemented, practiced and maintained
Environmental Health Safety
· Ensure all program requirements/standards regarding safety are implemented, practiced,
and maintained
· Coordinate Badging Program to include issuance of new badges for new hires, temp
employees and replacement badges. Ensure that badge data is accurate in SAP systems
and coordinate with Security for access
About You:
Associates degree along with previous experience in a similar role preferred, or 3+ years of relevant experience required
Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail Strong math aptitude,
Excel skills, and problem-solving skills
Previous experience with large payroll system; UKG, KRONOS and SAP a plus
Ability to manage conflicting priorities and workload pressure of strict deadlines
Must be able to meet critical deadlines and adapt to circumstances beyond control
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
