QS Assortment Manager

About the Role:

Join us as a Quality Specialist (Team Lead) and play a key role in supporting the delivery of high food safety and quality standards across the plant.

In this role, you’ll act as a point of contact for quality on shift, working closely with Production and Quality teams to help ensure products meet Group expectations. You’ll support day-to-day quality activities, help guide colleagues on standards and processes, and contribute to maintaining a strong quality culture on site.

This is a great opportunity for someone with some experience in quality who is looking to take on more responsibility and develop their impact within a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Main Responsibilities:

You will support the monitoring of product quality across the manufacturing process — from raw materials to finished goods — helping to ensure all checks, sampling and audits are carried out in line with standards.

Act as a point of contact on shift for quality-related queries, providing guidance to operators and colleagues on GMP and Food Safety standards, and helping to ensure consistent ways of working across the team.

Support hygiene-related activities, including cleaning validation and the Environmental Monitoring Programme, working with teams to maintain high standards on the factory floor.

You will contribute to the implementation and maintenance of Food Safety and Quality Systems, supporting compliance with Group standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and HACCP, including documentation, checks and audit preparation. Support the identification and escalation of quality issues, helping to coordinate initial investigations and ensuring appropriate actions are followed through in line with site procedures.

Assist with the complaints process, supporting sample analysis, investigations and trend tracking, and sharing insights with the wider team to support continuous improvement. Work closely with SQPs and Production teams, helping to guide best practice and support consistency in how quality standards are applied across shifts.

Overall you will contribute to continuous improvement activities and site projects, supporting delivery and helping to embed improvements into day-to-day operations.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you’ll have some experience within food quality, manufacturing or FMCG, or a relevant qualification in Food Science or a related field.

You’ll have a good understanding of food safety and quality principles, including GMP and HACCP, and be confident applying these in a manufacturing environment.

You’ll be comfortable supporting and guiding others on standards and processes, with good communication skills and a collaborative approach.

You’ll bring strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset and the ability to identify and escalate issues effectively.

An interest in continuous improvement and developing your knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g. ISO, FSSC) will support your growth in this role.
