About the role:

Within the Operations Sustainability, Environment and Energy (OSEE) Department we are looking for a Sustainability, Environment and Energy Regulatory Specialist reporting to the OSEE Regulatory & Iso Systems Manager. The role is based in Alba (CN), Piedmont – Italy.

The successful candidate will be able to give timely and efficient advice – from a regulatory perspective - to the business regarding environmental, sustainability and climate change issues, ensuring that compliance to environmental and energy legislation is met, by assessing current business practices and developing guidance to improve and meet environmental and energy targets. 

Main responsibilities:

With reference to environmental, sustainability and climate change topics:

  • Provide regulatory support to day-to-day business issues and projects within Ferrero Group operations, working closely with and supporting the relevant Country Legal teams.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest legislation, the regulatory and legal changes and drive the necessary adaptation of the Ferrero Group activities to those changes.
  • Perform compliance audits and regulatory compliance assessment of sites with the support of external specialized companies.
  • Carry out due diligence activities in M&A with the support of external specialized companies.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance is prioritised and championed at all levels within the organisation.
  • Build awareness of legislation and identify and lead to the prevention of any potential breach of regulation and permits compliance in order to avoid potential reputational damages for the organization and its stakeholders.

Who we are looking for:

  • Master’s degree in international law (Master in Environmental Law is considered a plus)
  • At least 3/4 years of previous working in an International Law Firm, or in the Legal/Regulatory Affairs Department of a Global/Multi-national Company, preferably in the FMCG sector is an asset
  • Proven proficiency business and legal English (spoken and written)
  • Proven knowledge of the Italian Environmental and Energy legislation is considered a plus
  • Experience in interpreting, understanding, and implementing relevant environmental an energy legislation
  • Understanding of relevant environmental regulatory standards and the process of implementation (e.g., ISO 14001 and 50001)
  • Practical experience in conducting environmental audits and due diligence activities.
