R&D Packaging Process Manager

About the Role:

Are you passionate about innovation, transforming creative ideas into innovative packaging and process solutions? As a R&D Packaging Process Manager within our primary packaging team, you will be at the forefront of complex packaging technologies changes, supporting technical owners, deploy, Engineering and the rest of stakeholders involved to develop new processes from the the initial concept to full industrialization. Your mission is to ensure that every new project not only meets Ferrero’s high standards for quality and innovation but also aligns seamlessly with our manufacturing processes. In this role, you will be the bridge between marketing briefs and manufacturing requirements directly supporting Ferrero’s growth and business continuity through agile, risk-managed development.

Main Responsibilities:

As R&D Packaging Process Manager in primary team, you will contribute and support the development of new packaging and the relevant processes according to the Stage&Gate approach. During the lab scale phase you will validate and develop PoP (proof of principles) for early stage processes and technologies working in close contact with machinery suppliers; during the pilot phase you will support and lead the trials in the Ferrero Factories ensuring that the pilot process comply to all the KPIs, including cost management.
Your role will also see you proactively scouting new packaging technologies and materials, driving innovation. You will manage the entire lifecycle of packaging projects, from design and validation to trials and homologation, ensuring every step meets Ferrero’s standards. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders will be key, as will your ability to manage risks and promote cross-functional collaboration.

About You:

You bring a Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electronic, or Materials Engineering, along with solid experience in packaging, process development, or an industrial R&D environment. 
You demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration skills, enabling you to engage stakeholders, influence decisions, and guide cross-functional teams in dynamic environments. Your curiosity and critical thinking drive you to explore new technologies, challenge assumptions, and continuously improve processes with a focus on efficiency and sustainability.
You are comfortable operating in evolving and international contexts, showing adaptability, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to travel. You communicate fluently in both English and Italian, ensuring clarity and impact across diverse teams, and you are confident in using key tools such as Microsoft Office and AutoCAD to support your work.
