Food Safety & Quality Product Design Ice Cream
About the Role:
We are looking for a Food Safety & Quality Product Design Ice Cream Account to join our Food Safety & Quality team. Reporting directly to the FSQ Product Design Ice Cream Manager, you will play a key part in ensuring that Food Safety & Quality principles are embedded throughout the development of new ice cream products.
Acting as the FSQ reference point for Ice Cream projects, you will ensure FSQ requirements are integrated across the entire product lifecycle, from early concept development through industrialization and market launch, by defining and continuously updating clear and actionable Product FSQ Specifications. Working closely with R&D, Marketing, Legal, Packaging and Manufacturing teams, you will support innovation while safeguarding Ferrero’s quality and food safety standards.
Operating in a dynamic international environment, you will take ownership of the Ice Cream FSQ perimeter, contributing both to the evolution of Ferrero’s existing portfolio and to the integration of new products and businesses resulting from M&A activities.
Main Responsibilities:
In this position, you will play a key role throughout the Stage & Gate process, ensuring that Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) requirements are fully embedded and supporting a First Time Right approach throughout the development journey.
You will support all stages of the product innovation pipeline, working closely with R&D and other stakeholders to ensure that FSQ criteria are incorporated from the earliest phases of product design. Your involvement in industrial trials and start of production will allow you to verify that safety and quality expectations are met under realworld production conditions, ensuring alignment between design intent and industrial execution.
You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining Product FSQ Specifications for the Ice Cream category, defining the rules that production plants and partners must follow to meet FSQ standards. These specifications cover the entire value chain, from raw materials and process parameters to shelf life, sensory characteristics, and finished product attributes. You will drive the continuous improvement of these documents by integrating learnings from plant audits, field operations, and consumer feedback, while actively collaborating with the relevant cross functional teams.
As a key FSQ reference point, you will provide your expertise when deviations from product specifications are requested and operate as a global point of contact in the event of non-conformities or incidents, supporting analysis and decision-making processes. You will also participate in governance discussions to ensure that FSQ perspectives are fully reflected in strategic choices.
Finally, on the data side, you will lead the development and management of FSQ KPIs related to innovation and the Product FSQ Innovation dashboard, ensuring clear visibility on progress and performance across projects.
About You:
You hold a master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or a related discipline and have gained solid experience in the food industry in similar roles, ideally within the ice cream sector, where you have developed a strong understanding of product technologies, manufacturing processes and category-specific risks.
This background enables you to translate technical knowledge into precise and actionable Product FSQ Specifications and to effectively navigate the complexity of product development.
Your organizational skills, continuous learning mindset and structured way of working allow you to manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of accuracy. You naturally collaborate with cross-functional and international teams, contributing to a shared culture of quality and compliance.
You speak fluent English and are available to travel globally as part of your role.
If you are passionate about Food Safety & Quality and eager to shape the next generation of Ferrero Ice Cream products, we invite you to apply and join our journey of continuous innovation and excellence.
