Business Development Project Manager

About the Role:

As a Project Manager for Sales & Business Development, you play a central role in driving cross-functional initiatives with a strong focus on Sales, particularly within Modern Trade. You coordinate and monitor projects end-to-end, ensuring that timelines, resources, and budgets are respected while enabling continuous improvement and business transformation. You act as a key point of contact for stakeholders across Sales, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, and beyond, working closely with both local teams and global counterparts. In a highly visible role, you contribute to strategic initiatives and act as a focal point for the evolution and enhancement of key sales capabilities, including tools used by the sales force after their go-live phase.

Main Responsibilities:

You lead and coordinate Sales and Trade Marketing projects, ensuring alignment across multiple stakeholders including senior leaders in Modern Trade, Trade Marketing, and Supply Chain. You manage project plans by defining scope, objectives, timelines, and responsibilities, while ensuring smooth execution across different workstreams, sometimes in collaboration with co-project managers from Sales or Trade. You facilitate collaboration between local and global teams, including IT and group functions, to ensure successful project delivery.
You monitor project progress, track deliverables, and proactively identify risks or deviations, recommending corrective actions when needed. You provide regular updates and clear visibility to stakeholders and steering committees, supporting informed and data-driven decision-making. You contribute to the development and monitoring of KPIs and performance metrics, leveraging data and reporting tools to support sales performance and business insights.
You also play a key role in supporting the adoption and continuous improvement of new capabilities, acting as a focal point for specific tools or processes introduced to the sales organization. You ensure that these solutions are effectively embedded post go-live, identifying opportunities for optimization and driving ongoing enhancements. In addition, you collaborate on initiatives involving supply chain processes and contribute to broader transformation projects impacting Sales and Business Development.

About You:

You bring a Master’s degree in Management Engineering, Economics, or a related field, along with at your experience in Project Management roles, preferably within Sales or commercial environments. You contribute a strong foundation in managing complex projects and navigating cross-functional organizations with confidence.
You add a deep understanding of Sales processes—especially in Modern Trade—along with exposure to Trade Marketing and Supply Chain dynamics. You offer a structured and analytical mindset, enabling you to interpret data, define meaningful KPIs, and support data-driven decision-making.
You strengthen the team with your ability to manage relationships with stakeholders, communicate effectively, and influence at different levels of the organization, both locally and globally. You bring a collaborative approach and are comfortable working in high-visibility contexts where coordination across multiple teams and functions is essential.
You enhance the organization with your proficiency in Excel and MS Office, and ideally your familiarity with data warehouse and reporting tools. You bring fluency in Italian and excellent command of English, enabling you to operate effectively in an international environment. Above all, you contribute a proactive mindset and a drive for continuous improvement, helping the organization evolve its Sales capabilities and achieve its strategic goals.
