About the Role:

If you’re looking for a role that combines technical knowledge, regulatory compliance, and consumer safety, this is it. As a Junior Packaging Compliance Specialist, you will support the Packaging department in ensuring that all new packaging solutions comply with food contact regulations, company policies, and are safe for consumers.
You’ll work closely with Packaging Designers, Quality, Procurement, and R&D teams, assisting in material evaluations, compliance documentation, and risk assessments. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in packaging compliance and sustainability within an international and dynamic environment.

Main Responsibilities:

In this role, you will support the R&D Packaging team in verifying and selecting packaging solutions that meet both regulatory requirements and internal company policies. You will be responsible for assessing the compliance of packaging materials with EU legislation—such as Regulation (EC) 1935/2004, Regulation (EU) 10/2011, and GMP Regulation (EC) 2023/2006—as well as relevant non-EU regulations.

Your day-to-day activities will include collecting, managing, and verifying compliance documentation from new suppliers or packaging solutions, including Declarations of Compliance, migration test reports, certifications, and technical datasheets. You will identify opportunities to improve packaging design and processes, ensuring alignment with food contact regulations and internal standards.

You will collaborate closely with internal laboratories to support compliance testing and interpret analytical results. As part of your responsibilities, you will contribute to the implementation of the Food Contact Materials (FCMs) compliance framework, helping to define policies, procedures, and systems for packaging materials.

Working alongside Packaging R&D, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs teams, you will help elaborate and guide risk assessments related to food contact materials. You will also assist in defining and updating internal guidelines and packaging qualification procedures, ensuring they meet GMP and food safety requirements.

Maintaining accurate records and documentation systems for FCM compliance will be essential, as will your contribution to building and nurturing relationships with external service providers, including testing laboratories, regulatory monitoring bodies, and training providers.

Who we are looking for:

To succeed in this role, you bring a solid educational background with a Master degree in a scientific discipline such as Food Science, Material Science, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field. Whether you’re just starting out or have up to three years of experience, your journey may include internships or early roles in the food, packaging, or compliance sectors—experience in the Food Industry will be considered a valuable asset.

You have a basic understanding of food contact regulations and testing methodologies, and any familiarity with EU or international standards will give you an edge. Your analytical mindset and keen attention to detail allow you to approach challenges with precision and clarity. You’re well-organized, manage your time effectively, and thrive in collaborative, cross-functional, and multicultural environments.

Communication comes naturally to you, and you’re eager to learn and grow. You’re proficient in MS Office, and if you have experience with data management tools, that’s a plus. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential as you’ll be working in an international context.

How to be successful in the role and at Ferrero:

Consumers, quality and care are at the heart of everything we do. So, to be successful at Ferrero, you’ll need to be just as consumer and product centric as we are - dedicated to crafting brilliant results for consumers around the world.

Strong analytical mind, attention to details on one hand, and ability to cooperate with employees at all levels and great organisational skills on the other, would be key to success.  Employee contribution and engagement at Ferrero is based on the individual, team and organisation dimension, so you should have the ability to work independently, as a part of the team and build good relations with stakeholders at all levels.  Being flexible and dealing with a dynamic working environment as well as the ability to embed new knowledge and skills in existing competencies will definitely help you to become high performer here.
